I personally dont like the mudlights.  I bought a set of them for my old 500, they did ride really nice and had a pretty good bite, but within the first 300 miles I had 2 small sticks puncture the center of 2 different tires.  I was just trail riding, no hard mudding or off roading.  They are light and have a nice tread, but I found the wall of the tire to be very weak.  I sold the quad after that and I will never buy another set.  I have 28" ITP 589's on both my 800 and 700 and they are unbelieveably strong!!  I now have over 3500 miles on both sets and have mudded extremely hard with them.  I have tore small chunks out of the tires (tread and the walls) and have never had a flat.  I cant believe how well they have held up, its unreal.  Ive had alot of different tires on alot of different quads and the only other tires that have held up as well as the 589's are the set of 28" Outlaws I had.  The 589's also offer a pretty good ride and great traction (definetely better than the mudlights).  Just my opinion................

Yeah i've never really liked the look of the mudlight, but they have grown on me.  But the 30's have a deeper lug than most mudlites and weight about the same as most 28" tires.  I originally wanted to go with a 28, but I can't find any that I really really like, or these sizes that I want.  I wanted some swamp fox's but they only come in 28x9 and 28x12 and I really wanted a 10" front tire.   I don't want outlaws because they are heavy and I don't really need that aggressive of a tire.  At first I didn't want the mst's because I thought they were just ugly as crap, but I guess looks shouldn't matter.   A buddy of mine has some 28" dirt devils that he really likes, he also has like 4 other sets of tires that he swaps out quite often on his brute force, but i've read that they don't do too well.  I don't know, too many tires to choose from!

How come no duels?

Thumbnail Image

DUAL EXHAUST IS ONLY ON DELUXE MODELS, BUT ITS NOT TRUE DUAL, ALL IT IS IS 2 MUFFLERS THAT Y FROM THE SINGLE PIPE, ITS COMPLETELY WORTHLESS AND ONLY FOR LOOKS. IF YOU NOTICE WHEN MOST PEOPLE PUT A PIPE ON THE "DUAL" 800 THEY GO BACK TO ONLY ONE PIPE. TO GET TRUE DUAKL EXHAUST YOU NEED TO SPEND ABOUT 7 OR 800 BUCKS FOR THE KIT.

Thanks mudbug & jeep. I never thought it would turn out this way when I first got it about a year ago, but it's been a blast doing all the mods.
And of course there will be more to come in the near future.

chris 420,

If you want to loose alot of power go with 30's, if you trail ride also, don't go over 27 l ike Rebel 64 said. I have a Stealth 800 myself and would not go over 27 as I like to see 70mph once in awhile and get there quick, so I'll probably go with 26 something not sure what.

So just to clarify, your first pic of the rear you have a single exhaust, is this a 2008, as the brochure says they are all dual exhaust this year. I'm confused a bit. Someone mentioned only deluxe come with duals but that was last year, 2008 they say they all come with them. Mine has them and I love them, just more Bling Bling I guess.

Nice bike. Do you think the 30s would fit with just the springs? Looks like they would in that pic.
