There have been a lot of entirely false rumors about 31" Outlaws that probably had to do with the fact that since introduction at Mud Nationals, we haven't said much about them. The reason for that is we recived the front prototypes and did not like the design/shape of the side lugs of the tread. It did not have as much of the "ears" at the top corner of the side lug so despite having to pay to have the mold reworked, we knew to be a real Outlaw, particularly the biggest and baddest Outlaw yet, this had to be done. We just in the last 10 days or so received the first revised fronts since the molds were changed.  They are awesome and everything we hoped they would be. Due to that expected delay (3 months) we felt it best not to do a lot of talking and create a lot of demand we can't fill for a while. I would guess we are looking at 90 days or so before they get here.

I will give you the facts to clear up those false rumors.  First the 31s weigh one pound more than the 29.5s. 38 for 10x29.5--- 39 for 9.5x31,  43 for 12x29.5----44 for 11x31. (by our scales 9x30 Zillas weigh 42--11x30  44lbs) We worked hard to save weight as we knew it would be important.

Next no axles has been broken while turning a 31. In truth since we haven't had that many, they have not been on that many bikes so that is not to say they won't. Since they  only weigh 1 more pound or 4 more per set  there should not be much difference. If you aren't breaking axles with 29.5s it should not be much different with 31s.
Now that we have approved the fronts we have ordered 5 containers. 2 have been spoken for by dealers placing advance orders. We are waiting on the delivery dates from the manufacturer, Cheng Shen Rubber Co., parent company and maker of Maxxis tires like Mudzillas and others. They are the makers of the highest quality ATV tires in the industry (IMO).
The tires will retail for 163 for fronts and 184 for rears. No they are not cheap and we negotiated for a better price but with componet costs up... yata, yata, yata.  Thats the best we could do. If we could bo better we would. I will post some pics of 31s compared to 29.5s shortly. The tires have a very flat profile and ride very well.

If you want to place a set on order we will put you in line and not hit credit cards til they ship.  Thanks for your support.

alrite i get that they might only weigh 1lb more but not many people think about is the fact that that 14" rim you have to use makes the entire combo weigh more. i picked up a set of teh very first 14" itp xtrs mounted on 14" type 7s and they weighed a ton, i picked up a 29.5x10 mounted at HLs shop for the open house and they didnt seem to weigh that much more than those 14" xtrs so now a huge tire along with a 14" rim just seems like youre really not trying to cut overall weight. i picked up a set of the 30x9x14 zillas today at my local dealer and jesus!!!. plus its crazy when the cost of atv tires is more than truck tires. not bashing just saying my own opinion and cant wait to see them on some of the big bikes out there just wont see me with a pair unless theyre given to me, i can barely justify buying some 27 laws. anyway good luck and good work on the new big laws!

I'll get some more pics today...but here is a pic to give you a size comparison.  On the left is a 29.5 and on the right is a 31.  Both are mounted on wheels, the 31 is on a bike in our showroom and both are rear tires.

The only other pair in existence is loaned out for a magazine test (see next issue of Mudders Mag).

When the test tires come back from Kevin, we'll get pics of the entire set.

Enjoy!

I know this is going to be considered a "negative" post, but tire weight has little to do with breakage.  Traction and diameter do.

For the record, I am not saying the 31's wont be the best tire on the market.  The 29.5s are so I see no reason that these wont be too.

I don't consider it a negative post, just your honest opinion. And i have to agree with you, but the 31's are only 1.5" taller than the 29's, so there shouldn't be to much more wear and tear than the 29's cause.

Then by your reckoning 29.5s should cause less carnage than 28s because they are just 1.5" taller.  I honestly have broken the same amount of stuff with 28s as 29.5s.  It is all in your driving style.
