Ar first i had taken it off, filled it w/ silicon and put it back on, thing is, i got water in my airbox, then i was just stuck, and ended up having to take a stick and shove down the hole to break the silicon so water would drain out. SO I made an airbox drain. I'll take pics of it tonight and Post.... I suggest doing this, mine came in REAL handy last sautrday when i found a deep hole and rolled in the pond.

take the plug out and fill it with silicon. put it back in after it dries good. Overnight is what i did. Then if you get water in the air box the plug is not stuck if its dried before you put it back on. Then you can just reach your hand up there and pull it off, let it drain, then put it back on.

yeah you're right, its not the easiest to get to. I usually keep a set of long needle nose with me. Everything under those side panels are hard to go to and the long needle nose's make it easier.

I ran a length of 7/8" hose off of mine with a valve on the end its water tight and when I get water in the box it will run down the hose and give me a buffer then I just open the valve and drain it.

I used about a foot of 5/8 ID hose, w/ this little valve (pictured) and a 1/4 to 3/8 bushing so that it would fit snug in the end of the hose (since the drain only came in 1/4) I used hose clamps on both ends, and I put a dab of silicon around the drain/bushing just b/c I thought better safe than sorry.

i have 2 peices of 5/8 id hose one where the duck bill was and one where the crank case vent was plugs in the ends just in case of water ever finding its way in it has somewhere to go before the engine and
they are service able instead of completly sealed!

ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT THE DRAIN WITH THE HOSE ATTACHED TO IT WITH A PLUG IN THE END OF IT?
iVE LOOKED AT MY AIR BOX SINCE IT WAS SNORKELED AND THATS THE ONLY DRAIN I CAN FIND BUT IT HAS A HOSE WITH A PLUG IN IT. DO YA'LL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE PLUG COMING OUT OR IS THIS JUST PREVENTATIVE. I'VE HAD MINE IN WATER OVER THE HEADLIGHTS AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS SINCE SNORKELING AND I NEVER CHANGED THE DRAIN HOSE SETUP.

No, there is a little duckbill under the airbox. if you take the lid off and your sitting on it, look in the upper right hand corner and there is a hole and there is what they call the duckbill. its about an inch long. im having the same problem with water coming up through it on mine

Wood Boy, check out the pictures in my post above, thats a cheap and easy way to fix it. 5/8 ID hose (1 ft= $0.59) and that plastic valve (1/4" about $3) and then a 1/4" to 3/8" Bushing (under a $1) And a hose clamp (like $0.10 lol) Clamp one end of the hose to the bottom in place of the duck bill, and screw the valve into the bushing, and insert the bushing into the hose, and clamp it down, I eve put a little silicon around the valve/bushing/hose to make sure it was sealed real good. Oh, and make sure the valve is "OFF" not "ON" LOL!!!

I got all of it at Lowes.
