Hey fellas, I have a 2001 Big Bear that has been through the mill and sank several times mudding and it is still running strong!  This has been about the toughest bike i've ever owned out of hondas, kawi's, other yamaha's, and 1 suzuki.  It's taken everything thrown at it and my daddy took it back after i went to college and left it outside in the sun for over a year under a few pines.  So the plastic faded BAD and it's got tar, and stained pollen all over it.  After hearing some of you talking about repainting them and i've tried every type of platic protection to shine it back up from armarol, tire wet, wd-40, tire foam, etc..   i decided to give it a make over and repaint it.

Here's some pictures of it right now.  LOL ,  it's not a pretty sight but alot better than it was i promise!  I just cleaned it before these so you can imagine.

I've got about 2-3 days left before finished. I finally got the plastic stripped clean and now working on painting it.  I'll get some photos of it when i'm done.

It was definately needing some TLC.  Don't forget to post some pics after it's done.

Yeah man, it's been abused badly on the outside by my daddy.   Internally it's still running strong but carbs need a good cleaning.  Feels weaker under a load then it use to.

Ok fellas here the pics of the finished product.   This was about aggravating at some point but looks to be well worth the time and money after finishing and looking at the old photos.    Tell me what you think!

If you use krylon fusion it will stick pretty good. I painted my kodiak and it is all in the prepping. Take the plastice and dwash it good witht soap and water then paint thiner. take some sand paper, kinda fine but not to fine and not rough. Rought the plastic up. Then hang it up from something wipe it down agian with the paintt thiner to get all the dust off. they begin painting I did about 8 coats of color on my plastic in about 20 min increments. After that I waited about 30-45 mins until paint is almsost dry but still kinda tacky. Then I put about 4 layers of clear coat. iI let it dry for about a week in a half. i have had it done for over a year. look in my sig and you can see it is still in ngood shape. It is rubbed off a litle where my feet woudl rub on the rearr fenders.

I had a friend do mine. the flex additive is the bomb. that is the key for keeping it on if you ride hard. and are going to rub a couple of trees.
