I dont know what you are talking about. I have owned one of just about every make there is, except Bomb. But my favorite out of all of them is the yamaha. I have had several popos and I still have one and I have yamahas now. I work on the polaris more than I work on my rhino and honda combined. It all depends on how you and what you ride it in. If you are gonna mud a bike, something will eventually break. Yes polaris's are built strong, but in my opinion they are "over engineered" I jsust hate workinig on them. Now yamahas and hondas are the easiest things to work on. They are simple that is what i like about them. But I have had a rhino for abotu 6 months and I have never had to get pulled home, EVER. And I never will be pulled home by a popo.

We are gonna sell the lift for sure. Its just not as fun to drive with the big lift because we mainly trail ride.

hey mud man you are very right it all depends on how you ride your bike or ruv but dont get me wrong i think the polaris is a whole lot better than the yamaha but you are right the polaris is harder to work on than the yamaha but i havent had to work on both of my polaris yet and i bought both of them at the same time one year ago the polaris got better engine and trans too

I guess that reasons that I have issues with them is because I do all the work on my bikes. I have never had one in the shop, I just find it easier to work on the yamahas. I have a shop manual for the popo and there are still things that I cant figure out. I can figure most things on the yamahas out wiith out a book.

I would have to agree with you on polaris atvs.  I know alot of people that have them and they are always having problems but they are very hard on them.  But from having a ranger, I would say that they hold up alot better than the atvs.  They are built better in my opinion.

Wow GotMuddy !! That motor is toast.

I can not believe how much your pics' look identical to my buddy's Rhino motor. We just returned from an ATV trip, where his second 660 motor blew. He's only running STOCK tires, a clutch kit (Dalton) & Grizz 660 CDI. His 1st blown 660 motor looked the same. His '04 Rhino will be on the 3rd motor and the machine only has 2000 miles on it.

Interesting.......

its only the rhinos with big **** lifts that have all the problems its not that yamaha is no good its just when you put big lifts and stuff like that on it puts stress on other parts....

sorry for resurrecting an old thread but

@gotmuddy you wouldn't happen to still have the picture of the oil pump chain would you?  I've got my Grizz apart and I too have a slack oil pump chain. I was curious to see how yours look.

If you can fix the tranny... I would recommend going with this middle drive support http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MIDDLE-DRIVE-GEAR-PLATE-BILLET-DIFFERENTIAL-RHINO-660_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em234QQhashZitem110273574830QQitemZ110273574830
It is MUCH better than the cheesy stock support.
Just throwing my 2 cents worth in here.
