Since my motor has so much work on it I wanted to get more air in it. So I ran 2 1.5" snorkles and it was alot easier to get jetted this time than when I had 1 2" PVC snorkle. I went from running a 110 jet to a 118. So the bigger the snorkle the more air it gets then you can add more fuel and that means more power. I didnt get to ride it but one ride like this setup before the valves went, so it is getting new valves, a new custom cam and then putting new rings it it while it is apart. I should be getting it back here pretty soon.

Ahhh .. I gotcha ... makes sense.
Thanks for the pics!! I noticed you don't have your oil cooler & fan on your bike ... is it removed just for some repairs or did you yank it all for good? Are you going with the web cam (88 grind)?

Was anyone aware of the fact that DG once made an aftermarket bumper for our old school Kodiaks? I have been on the hunt for a replacement bumper for the past year (since I've had my Kodiak) since my original one was all jacked up. I originally thought that I'd get a good aftermarket one however I immediately figured out that there were none so I had decided that I would look for a decent factory one since a brand new one costs nearly 200 bucks!! I had just about given up until a couple of weeks ago I found a DG Brute bumper that someone was selling brand new!! Check it out and tell me what you think:

http://home.megagate.com/blubberbutt/kodiak/dgbumper.htm

In the pics I don't have the fender/rack brackets on yet .. I'll get more pics when I have my machine back together completely. Overall I'm very satisfied with the way it looks .. it does stick out a good bit further than the factory (& weighs a ton more) but I can live with that. I do like the fact that the winch mount is integrated as is the mounting bolts for the fairlead.

Yes I went with the 88 grind. And it still has the oil cooler but on the 94 it is back right in front of the motor. I did ditch the fan about 2 years ago because it looked like crap and I dont think it worked. This bike is only for mud so it dosnt stay running for long periods of time like it would on trails.

I never have looked for a bumper just been satisfied with the stock one. I just got bored one day and hacked it up and made a pre-runner style bumper out of it. I also noticed that DG is making aluminum skids for them also. I saw a set on ebay that went for $50 brand new and went to look them up and they list for over $130. But I need to get some becuase I am not running any and there is one place we ride that you have to go over some rocks to get to the mud. I guess I might have to break down and get one.

I just want to let yall guys know how cheap these bikes are make into a mud machine and how mmuch potential they have. I was just thinking how cheap everything is on these bikes. I have more in my motor than I do in the whole bike. I paid $500 for the bike and spent about $300 fixing it. I made my own lift, locker, and snorkle. And then the wheels were about $300 (I already had tires from previous bike). Everything else for it has been made. I have about $2000 in the motor alone, From when I first started working on the motor until now. First with the first 1mm over bore job i did on it then putting iti back to stock and then, I spent a good bit getting the works from ****. Now the cam and new valves. I have about $3500 in this bike and wouldnt sell it for $5000 just because it can hang with those big bores with 29.5s in the real mud holes in the deep swamps. I never really relized this until I got my new kodiak and started looking at part and I am haveing to spend about $1000 just to make it mud worthy.

People do not give these old kodiaks enough credit, they make a handa 300 4x4 look like a fisher price toy. I am proud to say that I own one and not the sound to conceded it is possibly the Baddest in the land. What ever yall do to these bikes make sure that you build them to live up the the title of best ATV ever built.

That is very nice bumper! Are they still available? I have the Kimpex bumper which they still make.

Thank you .. to the best of my knowledge they are no longer made ... or at least I can't find them on the DG site if they are. The one I bought must have been someone that had it lying around in a warehouse somewhere. I can PM you the ebay seller's name if you are interested.

BTW, Kodiak_style! I sent you a PM on 05-15.

I will get some pics for you as soon as I can. The bike is at my brother's house, and I haven't had a chance to get by there. I may be to get over this evening and snap a few pics.

I am thinking about a price I sent you a pm. I have spare everything, cylinders, pistons, rings, front diff, axles, internal tranny gears. Thatthe bike has 26" outlaws. Right now it is still getting the motor put back together. It had the valve seals go bad. **** didnt put new ones in like I told them to. And we found the cylinder to be out of round when we took it apart. It will have a BRAND NEW #88 grind web cam that has taken me 3 months to get because they are idiots. Went ahead and put new rings in it while it was apart and new valve guides and seals. I still have to take the cam to the guy building it this week but I dont think it will take him to long to get it buttoned up after that. The plastic was originally the stock grey, I took and painted it with green krylon fusion. That stuff held up very well. But right now it is at a body shop and they are going to paint it Black with seveal layers of clear coat. If you have any other questions about it you can call me. I will PM you my number.
