for a new avitar or avitar changes....

Click "control Panel" at the top of the page ( in the High Lifter box at the very top )

under :: My Control Panel :: in white...

Click "My Profile"   in yellow...

scroll down to "my Avitar"

Click "Upload My Picture ( will replace existing one )

click "browse"

click a properly sized pic from your hard drive ( you'll likely need to use a program to resize any of your pics small enough to use as an avitar... it can be done in paint, & several other picture specific programs )

click OK

click OK

scroll to the bottom of the page, & click OK, or apply if you are still working in your control panel...

also if your pics are too large for an avitar...

For those needing it resized...find the picture on your computer.  Right click and open with paint
Go to Image at the top and chose strecth skew.   When it comes up with the percent windows in the first two windows type 50/50 then 90/90 for example, untill you shrank your original picture to the right size..  To check on size click image then attributes and it should tell ya 145x104 etc.

When you Click "Upload My Picture ( will replace existing one )"

a pop up window should open, with the browse button in it... it will look just like the pop up window you should see if you click the yellow "click here to upload" text at the bottom of the text box when replying... if the window doesn't open, let me know... but it has been working fine for most everyone so far...

Well I am pretty computer literate and I am still having a problem. File is more than small enough but I keep getting and the message "Error Uploading File"

Any advise? I am using a generic one of yours now but would like to upload my own.

Thanks

if the file is small enough, try later... I was having the same issues occasionally with posting pics in my posts... all went through later...

... I'm not sure the reason for the glitch... but hopefully TAX ( oops... I mean TEX... can you tell where my mind is this weekend... tax appointment time ) can get things smoothed out after the emergency start glitches are all dealt with...

if you continue have problems let me know...

it's not loaded correctly... it could be the size is too big, or not the correct file type... is it a JPEG image file ??? if not, try saving your avitar pic as a JPEG file, & reloading it... if it is a JPEG file, perhaps the size is just a bit too large,

... or could have been a result of the forum changes they were making yesterday... maybe try reloading like it is again, if it's a JPEG image, & you think it's small enough, or make the changes I suggested... post back, if you are still having problems, & we'll see if we can iron them out...

they made some changes to the "server???" & there was a glitch that TEX ironed out late yesterday... something was missed during changes ( not TEX's fault ), where no pics could be posted... try it again today, & if it doesn' go through, we'll try to guide you through it...
