I was talking to a honda guy and he said i can take the ignition out of my moms lil recon and take it to a key maker and get a new one made for like 20$...Is this true??

Cuase if not they want like $80 for a whole new ignition and 2 new keys

yeah just as long as its a good place, i took the lock out of my travel trailer and took it down and had keys made, the trailer was a repo and didn't have the keys

I LOST MY KEY TO MY HONDA,GAVE LOCAL HONDA DEALER THE VIN NUNBER,AND THE CUT ME A KEY THERE

I lost one of mine but still had the other, Honda has numbers on there keys, call and give the number and had two made for 3 dollars each. If you ride a honda I can give you the number to call.

The honda dealer over here says they cant to anything but sell me a new ignition..then he reffered me to a key cutting place and said just take my ignition to them and they will make new keys for like 20$

ive seen ignitions with 3 keys on ebay for about 30 bucks shipped for my grizz. You might want to check that out.

Sounds more like a stealership to me. He's just trying to make you buy parts from him. Find a new dealer or shop online. I've boycotted the local dealer here. Luckily, I've got 2 more dealers within 25 miles.

sure is. i had to rebuild my 400ex cuz the guy i baught it from didnt tell me it burnt oil. the dealership basicly told me i needed to repace all the parts that were in the topend. i buy all my parts and gett al my work done at a local ktm dealership. its small and i know the guy that owns it. its the way to go

I just got some old 84 moto-4? And the guy who had it lost they key, took the ignition out (2 wires) and bought a key from Yamaha which was a bad idea because it was like 6 bucks. But I'm going to bring it down and get it cut here monday our tuesday.
