I know a lot of us love the mud and are always looking to make our quads more water proof so.... most of us never use our pull starts and for the most part they seem to be water proof but just to make sure I run a bead of silicone around it to make it 100%water proof!

I've never understood that! You ever tried to pull start a 660 Grizzly?
I've done it!! AND  while I was on the way to get a cortisone shot for
my shoulder, I  wondered why Honda was the only manufacturer to
use a kick start as a back up!!

I believe only the old 300s (and ATCs) had kickstart only no electric or nothing just kick. thats why them things are so reliable, nothing on the things to realy break. kick start, foot shift, IIRC full time 4x4 everything. Was the ultimate KISS atv.

my 450 has pull start back up and it pulls easy, there should be an internal/automatic compression release on your 660

Same on the Can-am!! My buddies 700 Arctic Pulled start easy.  Mine likes to rip back on you and give you a heck of a shoulder ache! On top of that it is really hard to start after the first 3 attemps you kill yourself!

Nope, the Kymco 500 has them all beat.  I can pull start a SPMN500, as well as every other machine I've tried without much trouble.  The Kymco nearly tore my shoulder off.

Any kick back on the brute? The kick back on my 5hp pressure washer will break your arm, I am scared to see what my 750cc v-twin will do

Brutes have KACR(Kawie Automatic Compression Release) on the cams, they are pretty easy to pull.

yea i pull started mine the day i bought it and then after liek 5 months of riding i tried again and when i pulled it seemed like my arm and shoulder got shredded off my torso, u gotta pull on it slowly until it gets just right then its relatively easy to pull start,,,but it still always seems like when i first go to pull it it must be on the compression stroke or something cuz u cant pull it for crap

My PoPO is a bee otch to pull start.

And it doesn't hurt to seal the PoPo's pull starts either, just a little bead around the factory seal with grease or silicon.
