i have a 05 750 since i have had it , it has been in the shop for total of almost 5 months. The things that have been replaced are the wiring harness for catching fire , the fan because of the wiring harness ( which by the way warranty didnt cover) ,  both acuators have been replaced the 4wd one was twice,  both computers under the seat have been replaced the small one was twice. the boots on the carbs have been replaced 3 times two of which times the motor was rebuilt due to sucking dust in the motor.  All of the seals in the front diff. have been replaced 2 times which the rear one in going on its 3rd, and a few of odds and ends over the past 2 years i have had it . The bike has not seen many hard rides both there has been a couple but nothing like ive seen others do to theres.  Maybe its a lemon maybe its just junk, but it has change my mind up about buying another kawasaki.

Your little electrical problem can all be summed up in two words.......BUSS CONNECTOR! The seals going out....well thats the price you pay for owning a brute. The carb boots ripping? That can really only be caused by human error. They had to be torn when removing the air box or being careless while working on it. I hate you had so much bad luck though.

That sucks man! I feel for you! That sounds like it might have all been from 1 problem to start with, except for the seals, get use to that.

dealler said it was the buss connector that got the wiring harness  but all they did was fixed the melted wires  and taped it back up and it wasnt a week later when i got it back i took it for a ride and found out the fan was fried to so they wanted to charge 400 dollars for a fan so i went to summit and bought a bigger and better one for 60 dollars and far as the carbs they said it was the clamps the factory put on so the changed it and rebuilt the motor then less than a year later it happen again the mech at the dealer accussed us of sticking a screw driver in the boots and pocking a hole but you could see where the clamp had done it , on the cylinder head around the outside where the clamps goes there is a real sharp edge and thats whats cutting the boots. And the sealls well i figured thats normal wear when the first one went out , but since now im going on my third set i figured there was somthing design wrong.
thanks for the post

You have to REMOVE the buss connector for it to do any good. The seals are a fact of life. I have almost 1000 miles no no front seal troubles at all and only one rear seal. I hardly ever use 4wd though. The boots......there is no excuse there. You have a shady dealer. Just do the work yourself or find a new dealer. Once you fix those two things you should be very happy with your brute other than the seals. IMO

That's the reason I went to Polaris...I was tired of riding for an hour and working on it for two hours. Now before everybody starts screaming at me I have always been a Kawi guy. I'm just not very happy with the Brutes. I'm sorry but you should not have to replace prop shaft seals every few miles. That's ridiculos and a bad design on Kawis part.

Yeah the seals are a pain, but normally they are just dirty, if you ride in mud alot you will have problems, i have rode with it leaking then go ride in the water all day come home and no leak. They just dont like to be dirty.

Nobody said Kawasaki dominates!! Just Brutes..and I have riddena  Can-Am..the only time i did ride one it SLUNG chunks of the belt out of the snorkel and just bout gave me a scar to talk about..So no, I'll never ride a Can-Am again Not that they're not good machines, just not my preference, I'd MUCH rather have a new fuel inj brute before a Can-Am..JMO   I've seen to much around this sport to buy a Can-Am

I know 2 other people with the 05 750 and both have had major problems with them.  Motor problems, the intake was in a poor spot since the tires threw water in mud right at it, many problems with the front diff., although never known anyone with the seal problems or the buss connector problem.  It might be just me but it seems that every year since the 05 there has been less and less problems.  JMO

I can't say it ever left me stranded but then again thats why I carry tools and guys I'm not saying the Brutes are a bad machine thats why I can't understand why ya'll bash Polaris, My 800 is no slouch in the power department. It just seemed like there was always something wrong or not right. Between jetting, prop shaft seals, fan breakers, oh and wheels falling off...LOL and on and on. It was just the small stuff driving me crazy. Don't get me wrong my Brute is stupid powerful, I don't know maybe I just got a bad taste in my mouth.

Sounds like you have a bad dealership.  Mine has been in for sunk motor, seals twice, fan not working, O rings causing oil to leak, and everything has been covered every time, try another dealer, besides, sounds like they do shotty work anyway

i have an 05 brute, matter of fact the VERY first brute the local dealer got in..  i have been through the BUSS connector, been through seals, been through this and that.. and i could never call it a bad machine..  and i can almost always pick out the people who complain (no offense to anyone), the ones who complain are the ones who arent so mechanically inclined.. alot of the stuff with these brutes is preventative maintenance..  ive been through about 4 different seals on my brute, most of which i can tell  that something else was the cause..  water in the front or rear diff will cause those seals to blow, overfilling the engine with oil will blow the rear seal right out, etc..  and not only that, but those seals probably ARE poorly designed, they have indentations in the face of them that makes them hold sand and mud.. easiest fix is to keep them clean, no big deal. carb boots, i have even been through that.. man i dont know how you wouldnt notice a leaky carb boot because that particular cylinder will suck air and run like complete garbage!! usually the boot splitting is an over-tightened factory clamp, their thin and have sharp edges! so be careful with them..

as for the rest, sounds like you have a real shady dealer, "patching up a burnt wire harness" isnt the way a dealer should fix things.. that cutting corners, avoiding warranty claims.. that BUSS connector can cause some real havoc, but it was a service bulletin for the dealers and it just sounded like they didnt fix it the way they were supposed to and F'd up everything in the process..i too have a dumb dealer, thats why i do alot of the work myself.. you'd be amazed how much you can learn about the machine and how many problems spots you can find just by pulling off the plastics and looking it over..  i learned alot of the ways to avoid trouble by doing that..

hopefully in time to come, manufacturers will make a bike that WILL take the abuse that mud and water riding cause..  fact is, no one does.. the brute has its issues, popo's have their issues, can ams have theirs, so on and so forth..

i have an 05 brute, matter of fact the VERY first brute the local dealer got in..  i have been through the BUSS connector, been through seals, been through this and that.. and i could never call it a bad machine..  and i can almost always pick out the people who complain (no offense to anyone), the ones who complain are the ones who arent so mechanically inclined.. alot of the stuff with these brutes is preventative maintenance..  ive been through about 4 different seals on my brute, most of which i can tell  that something else was the cause..  water in the front or rear diff will cause those seals to blow, overfilling the engine with oil will blow the rear seal right out, etc..  and not only that, but those seals probably ARE poorly designed, they have indentations in the face of them that makes them hold sand and mud.. easiest fix is to keep them clean, no big deal. carb boots, i have even been through that.. man i dont know how you wouldnt notice a leaky carb boot because that particular cylinder will suck air and run like complete garbage!! usually the boot splitting is an over-tightened factory clamp, their thin and have sharp edges! so be careful with them..

as for the rest, sounds like you have a real shady dealer, "patching up a burnt wire harness" isnt the way a dealer should fix things.. that cutting corners, avoiding warranty claims.. that BUSS connector can cause some real havoc, but it was a service bulletin for the dealers and it just sounded like they didnt fix it the way they were supposed to and F'd up everything in the process..i too have a dumb dealer, thats why i do alot of the work myself.. you'd be amazed how much you can learn about the machine and how many problems spots you can find just by pulling off the plastics and looking it over..  i learned alot of the ways to avoid trouble by doing that..

hopefully in time to come, manufacturers will make a bike that WILL take the abuse that mud and water riding cause..  fact is, no one does.. the brute has its issues, popo's have their issues, can ams have theirs, so on and so forth..
