Status: offline 		i got this about 3 weeks ago it a 2001 dodge ram 3500 dually auto it had a 143000 miles and i got it for $8500 it has a AFE cold air intake straight piped 3" im going with stacks diablo power puck 50 hp and a missing silencer ring..the inside is just as clean as the outside

Status: offline 		looks good man. is it auto or manual. Also it being 01 its got the vp44 on it ever been replaced? or anything done to it? the lift pumps on these trucks are know for going otu and then starving the vp44 for fuel and shorting the lift of them. So i would get fuel pressure gauge if you don't already have one. I ended up getting a walbro 392 fuel pump and big line kit but i needed it with the programer i had and some other stuff i had done to mine.  Here's link below to what mine looked like. Status: offline 		I don't know about in a dodge but in my 6.0 my diablo felt like it had more power than the SCT.... also the SCT made my mpg's really sorry it went from 17 to 13.

Status: offline 		honestly the best thing go with if your just starting off is go with the edge juice. that way you have ur gauges and the programer built in one. I had my edge were i could watch my fuel pressure, trans temp. boost. and pryo. you can change it to other set ups as oil temp water temp. rpm and the speedo. I had my programer on mine with out the fuel pump and soon as i saw i didnt have any fuel pressure i got on the phone and orderd the walbro 392 external fuel pump. Had it set at 18psi and on wot it would pull down to 14psi while on level 5. And it would roll some coal out and  you talking about world of diff wow... Kinda makes me wish i wouldnt' ever got ride of my old goat...


p.s. you can go own the gota forum and look around and find some pretty good use stuff if not even new for pretty cheap. i paid like 475 for my edge juice that was used. And when i sold my dodge i took it off and re sold it for the same price.  Just keep one thing in mind. once you start modding its just like 4wheelers. first programer, then tranny, then injectors, then turbo... and so own.

i dyno'd what you see below with the stock lift pump ...

big line kit and relocation kit have the stock lift pump make 16 psi at idle ...

about 8psi under full load

Status: offline 		I would probably go with an Edge Juice with Attitude but be careful with that tranny man! If you plan on using all of the Edge's power throw in a good built valve body for the tranny, it will help it last and hold longer. And unless you plan on 600hp don't run full 5" piping for the exhaust, it is overkill for anything less than that.

Status: offline 		i think i spend like 400 bucks on my walbro 392 pump and big line kit  and draw straw i had 1/2 line going all way to the vp44.  My lift pump was pretty much dead already so i just by passed it. Or you can go the cheap way and get a holley blue pump for like 80 bucks i think and run big line kit. I've heard people doing that and it doing pretty good. If ya really wana find out alot about these trucks just go the c_u_m_m_i_n_s forum. Also you dont mind me asking Does it have the 53 block? I didnt know about the 53 block till after i bought mine and lucky it didnt have a 53 block.

Status: offline 		difinaly go with Edge but go ahead and have the drag code put in it its well worth the money all it does is keep it from defeulin i seen you said a fass pump do that because with any big fuelin mod the stock lift pump cant take it and injection pumps aint cheap mine i just put in was $1900 Industrial Injection hot rod but worth it

but like M_R_M said it is a desease once you start you cant stop nice truck though and for the price i would have snatched that one up

Status: offline 		My personal advice. Dont get a FASS. Nothing wrong with them really but the Air Dog is identical but only $530 and comes with a lifetime warrenty versus the FASS 6 year warrenty.

The guy who makes the Air Dog is the dad of the kid who makes the FASS.

Tha air dogs also run quieter

A lift pump or at a minimum, a low pressure light HAVE TO be added.

As for a tuner. The Edge juice is nice.

I shouldn't do this but I always reccomend the SMARTY. For you it would be the s-03. Itll run you around $650 and add up to 170hp.  It has 10differnt levels, but really only 6 differnet power levels as the others are stackable levels. Why should't I reccomend it?? You need a tranny and a few other mods to run the big tunes. A turbo is neded to take full advantage of them.  These are big ticket items and dont think you want to spend the money on them yet. But once you run the big tunes you will fall in love and before you know it you will have unplaned tranny expenses.

If you do decide to add it, get a pyro at a minimum.  Also you may not like the fact that it isnt adjustable on the fly.

Status: offline 		man i didnt know i had these post im sorry guys but thanks for all the advice and thanks for the compliments it a work in progress right know i do have the low level light and the only time it comes on is first thing in the mornin when i take my daughter to school and we are running late but after it warms up it dont come on but im going to upgrade fuel and prolly get a edge comp box and all the guages i need for now and i think im going to go with duals out the back with 5" miter cut tips so dont get behind me when i call on it...lol

 One word for you " SMARTY"   This is the best chip/programmer out for the dodges...  Yes Air Dog is cheaper, but the FASS has some of the best customer service out there and they have come out with a lifetime warrenty also..

Status: offline 		looks like u started modding lol. ic you went with the black holly pump not bad lil pump for the price. I was going go that route but deced to get the the walbro 392  which worked pretty good for me as well and always kept plenty of fuel going to my vp44.  Just word of advice... start saving for a tranny before you know it ur's will be slipping. u might say ur going take it easy and not test out level 5 and get own it but after you do it once u wont be able to stop ur self from doing it again its kinda like drinking a beer u never just want one.... you gota have a few.
