How do you test a starter mine turned over slow for the last few months now it wont start at all it just clicks the senoild? The battery is fully charged. thanks for the help.

starter turning over slow does not sound like a starter to me. but to test it take it off take a 12v source via battery charger or spare battery and hook to the ground on the starter and touch the hot to the post on the starter. the starter will kick a lil bc of torgue so make sure you are holding it flat on a table or clamp it down so it don't take a finger off lol

if it started out being sluggish i would say battery but you said it was good so maybe a connection? including solenoid and starter connections.

same thing hapened to me, even got a new battery and silenoid,then finally it got stuck and had to disconect the battery, and think i have to just get a new starter.

My starter was dragging and then working intermittently then finally just stopped working all together.  I took it apart and the brushes had gotten packed full of crud and stuck in position.  Finally they wore away enough that the one brush wasn't making contact anymore.  I cleaned them all up so they would slide and cleaned the armature and it works fine again.
