This sounds intriguing..... This should lead to some Southern and or Northern Engineering!

actually just made one a few days ago. got a plow off craigslist dot com for $50 and made the mount myself. i have a welding machine but it is broken so i put it all together with bolts and it turned out great and is extremely strong.

I used a 48" plow off of a Gravely lawn mower.  I then welded up a under body frame for the sportsman.  I love it, however I would not go any smaller then 48" if you have a sportsman or equivalent sized bike.  The blade clears a path just wide enough for the atv i would prefer to go with a 52-54" plow if you go bigger then the atv might struggle to push it if you get a heavy snow and/or are going up hill.  Also think about getting a blade that has skid shoes on it, mine does not and I need to make up a pair when I find time.

I would hate to run into something with that setup (ie- flip over).  Really nice fab job though.  I came up with a setup for my bucket attachment thet loses no ground clearance and is pretty strong. Here's an older pic of the starting point before modifications. I used the black bash plate as a start and welded a piece of angle to it and ran it to the bottom skidplate bolt. Then welded a round perch to hook the bucket / plow to. It is super strong and has positive connection to the frame without any loss of g.c. and is up front and easy to get to. I can get more current pics if anyone is interested.

my dada made the plow for the recon and he is very good at welding but doesnt have much experience with plows and how strong they need to be. he used a 1/4" heavy duty door hinge for the flip action and lets just say i had to limp it to the end of plowing season and right at the end it just broke off.partly my fault because i plow like 30 driveways a strorm and hit things pretty often but also it wasnt built like it needed to be.so i am hoping for better luck this year. my plow is off a bolens tractor and is very heavy duty and the mount i made is made out of all 1/4" steel so i am hoping for the best but we will see what happens.
