I too, would love to know what y'all are using.......I tried holding my camcorder with one hand this past weekend and ended up on my back watching my Grizzly tumble down a 20 ft. hill. I know that was not very smart and I have the bruises and trail rash to prove it.  Would these bullet cams work with a camcorder ?

I own the firehelmetcam and would highly recommend it. I am a firefighter and have had it around alot of water. Its waterproof and takes pretty good video, the microphone isnt all that...but overall I am pleased.

There is an ipod dock that you can buy to record video directly to your ipod but, it's not realistic for what you are looking to do. It's also $200.

MudCon seems to have a good setup, he makes some nice looking videos and I believe some of his footage comes from a bullet type camera. According to his website this is what he uses: http://www.jonescam.tv/

Here are smaples of what you can do with thier product: http://www.jonescam.tv/helmet_cam_video.php

A good setup will not be cheap, that's just kind of how it is.

i relaize a good setup wont be cheap but you can get a sony 580 bullet cam on ebay for 35 which i have read is a good camera the only problem is that something to record it on is so expensive. i dont need a screen or anything on the recorder i just need something that can record the video and put it on my computer

In that case just buy a cheap camcorder with a AV in on it.

Most camcorders can hook up to your PC via USB, or firewire. Just make sure your PC has the ports to support whatever camcorder you get.

Anybody looked at flip video they sell them at walmart for 125- 150 I bought one for my daughter and the video on hers looks pretty good, may have to get the action mount and give a try on the Foreman to see how good it is. 2GB records 60min. You can plug the cam straight into a USB port on a PC to download video.

Sanyo has the SANYO Xacti E1  and it's a waterproof camcorder. I considered trying it out but decided I wanted high def recording insted. But, if you are looking for a mid-range priced solution that may be something to consider. If you could mount it somehow to your bike for the trail recording then snap it off and do some normal camera work from time to time, it would be nice.

I have a VIO POV.1 helmet cam. I love it. Can be mounted anywhere. Comes with a remote that you can have on your handlebars for starting and stopping record mode. Stores video on a SD card.

these are all very nice systems but my main problem is finding a cheap mini dvr or anything that will record from a bullet cam. the cams are cheap it is the recorder that can get very expensive

sorry to bring up my old tread but i didnt want to start a new one. i was looking around at my sporting goods store the other day and saw this camera. it is made by stealth cam and it is called the epic. look it up on their website seems like nice setup for $150 and you can even put it in it's water proof case and take videos underwater up to 20 feet
