I have read a lot of the post about the heat sheild stuff you rap around your header pipe and people were saying that if you don't dry it out after a wash it will rust the pipe in no time. I was thinking what if you sprayed the pipe with hi temp antirust wood stove paint its rated at 1600* then wraped it?

I would just start the 4wheeler and let it idle for about 10 minutes to dry out the header wrap

If it's getting wet all the time when your trail riding, it'll quickly dry anyways (mine does).  When you wash it and it's cold, you need to start it so it warms the pipe and burns off the water.  I've got no issues with it, but I'm not a big mudder either - we've got mud, but not deep mud / water.

spray your header, and let the muffler release all the heat. it has much more surface area.

It dries fast,  just start it after washing.

its the job of the cylinder fins to release the heat. if its air cooled see what might be blocking air flow to the fins. water cooled, check air flow to your radiator.  atv manufactures like to put lots more aesthetic plastic on your bikes for utility atvs versus sport bikes.
