alright i know ive seen some posts about spark arrestors but i cant find them. can u run an eiger without it in and if so will it help it run or just change the sound?

it depends on what type of pipe you have on your bike, the factory has one in it. If you have an HMF you can eun it with it in or you can take it out. Its only three screws to remove/add it. if you buy an aftermarket exhaust it should come with a spark arrestor

its the stock pipe. reason i ask is cause i got ran into this past weekend and did some damage to the end of the pipe. i can still get the arrestor out and i just wanted to leave it out since it was bent up.

it will run just fine without it, might lean it out some though so check the spark plug after you ride for a bit and make sure its not turning white. not real sure how much it will affect the sound, it will be a bit louder but i dont k now about the tone

alright the spark arrestor is out, and it does sound a little better, its got a little more tone to it. i took the bolt out and tried getting it out by hand but it wasnt happening. i had to bend the end cap down on it half way and hook a chain to it and hook to a tree to get it out but it came out. also i rode it around a few miles then checked the spark plug and it is still a brownish color so its not running lean or anything. of course u cant tell a difference in power or anything but it does sound better.

Yeah, just sounds better wont hurt anything, mine kept getting clogged with mud so removed and havent had any clogging since.
