how do you drain the fuel in a outty 800?  I wasn't sure if there is a plug or what not on the tank so i had to syphen out most of the gas.  What is the correct way to drain the gas tank to clear mud and water out of it?  Thanks.

No drain.  Siphon what you can get out and then pull the tank to pull the pump and get everything clean.

You are talking about the pump in the tank?  Because i checked the fuel filter on the right side and it was clean.  And when i siphond the gas out alot of junk came out.  I flushed out the tank with some more gas and it was clean.

The pump has a screen inside the tank that will get clogged with sand or any debris inside the tank.  If you get trash in the tank, you have to pull the pump and clean the screen.  Flushing it will not solve the problem.

Alright, thanks man.  This afternoon when I get home I'll pull out the shop manual and figure out how to pull it.  Thanks again.

Alright I just finished pulling the gas tank and fuel pump etc.  Well it was full of dirt, cleaned the pump and the tank and the vent lines.  The vent lines were clogged with dirt bad.  I cleaned the vent lines and hooked everything back up.  The bike ran fine.  My question is does it matter how far up I run the vent line?  Also the line that plugs into the frame under the seat, do I have to do anything to that one or just the one that is hanging on the right side of the bike?

I am having the same issue, I siphoned the tank and after reading this, looks like I need to pull the pump and clean.  I had post a week ago or so and MatPrice recommended the vent line under the seat to be run to the pod (or at least that what I assume) as well as the tranny vent!

Remove the "Y" and run the vent straight out of the tank and up behind the pod.  Same thing with the tranny vent.

Good to see you solved the problem

So if the 'Y' is just reversed and run to the pod?  This would suffice?

And remember to make sure that you have the check valves on the exact same way as they are stock.  I thought that running the tranny vent into one side of the "y" and having the other side the vent for the gas tank and then ran the one hose up the to the pod would work NOPE!! it actually collapsed my gas tank.  Now I have the check valves on correct and have separate lines for the gas tank and tranny running to the pod.
