I am going to be tearing my engine down to replace the timing chain and was thinking I might change the camshaft. Is there any camshaft review sites on which I might choose? Which one do you recommend?

Can you elaborate a little? What performance gains did you see? Did you have to rejet? Did you need to upgrade to the raptor springs? I think mudbuster recommends you put a raptor spring on the center intake valve.

Thanks for that link. What I would like is for people who have installed this cam to chime in with their experiences.  I am curious to know how noticable the performance increase is. Did gas consumption increase? How many miles people have on these cams that have them? Are they durable?  What valve springs did people install with it?

I guess I'm looking for alot of first hand feedback.

Yeah so far lots of people say to put a hotcam but nobody wants to give their experience with them.  I'm not too impressed with marketing mumble jumble. What I want to hear is from people with first hand info on this product. This hotcam requires a raptor spring on the center intake valve so I'm not interested in taking apart my engine just to put in a cam that will give me a borderline increase in power. I'd like to know things like did gas consumption increased, how much performance gain to it make? Things like that.

Unless you're going to put a high compression piston in with replacing the cam, I'd say don't do it.  You probably will not notice a big difference in power, but it does make the power band start lower in the rpm range.

Low end power is what I would appreciate having more of. Can you explain the difference? The people selling these cams say that there is much more bang for your buck then any other type of after market parts you can install. Can you and anyone else explain the power increase?

I do know that the highest power gain i ever got was putting a high compression piston in my bike. It was like day and night.

Hey 1meanforeman450 thanks for your post. Its very informative.

I only plan to change out the Cam. Is there anyone here that has only dropped in an after market cam on this forum? Please post.

I have had the mudbuster cam for about 6 months and I love it. It gave me alot of bottom end. As far as the valve spring I kept all of that stock and have had no problems. I don't think you will be disappointed with this product.

I went with the hotcam stage 2 raptor cam with all 5 rappy springs and we put the mudbuster with all rappy springs in a buddies within a few weeks apart.  Neither of us needed to rejet.  They did give both of us some increase in power.  The mudbuster more on low end and the raptor from midrange to topend.  We got much more noticable gains from the exhaust, jetkit, and airfilter upgrades.  I couldn't tell any difference in fuel consumption

Ah great review ALPHA_GRIZZLY. Too bad you didn't have a stock Grizzly to use as a baseline. That would have been the best to be able to compare against another grizzly that didn't change anything. That way you could quantify your findings but its still a great review and well appreciated!!!!

Anymore reviews? Thanks everyone who posted.

I put high comp piston in at the same time (686), couldn't tell you with just the cam.Mud buster is better for mudd'n. Stage 2 hot came is for big stroker or for Raptor type riding. Make sure you change the center valve spring. Do not leave this step out. eard lots of people deopping valve becuse they did not want to instll a $10 spring. With the hiher lift on centre intake valve with high RPM operation. The sring coils will bind and valev keepers will drop and then you will be doing the high comp piston and an overbore
