I'm debating between these two tires in 27's. I run hard pack, some mud and pavement. I can get a new/used set of Swamp lites for $250 but I can't find a nice used set of Bighorns any where near me for sale in Florida. So, the Bighorns will have to be bought new.

I know the Bighorns hold up good on the hard pack and pavement but how are the Swamp lites? What are the pros and cons of both tires? Is the Swamp lites a hard compound like the Bighorns?

The big horns will serve you well on any terran,  on the other hand swamplites have good tread but cant handle many miles on hard pack.

I run my Rhino 660 1/2 the year in mud but the other half its riding on hard pack and pavement before, during and after hunting season.

I have 27" swamps now. I've put over 650 miles and if u run 2wd in alot of holes like i do(cause u dont always need 4) theyre gonna wear much faster. My rears are probalby 70% and  the front 85. The swamps pull awesome, clean out extremly well, and grip everywhere. I love mine. If u ride more mud than dirt go with the swamps, your not gonna get the side wall controll like you would the horns but you'll go more places

I'd say I run 1/3 mud, 1/3 hard pack and 1/3 pavement. So the Swamp lites are a softer compound than the Bighorns then?

With your riding I wouldn't get the Swamplites because they will wear fast. Bighorns would be ok, but they don't do so well in the mud. You might also look into the Outlaw MST's and Maxxis Zillas. They both will handle the mud and last longer than the Swamplites and still give you a smooth ride.

ive got 27in bighorns that i ran on my tcat before i sold it.
from the sounds of the type of riding you do the bighorns will serve you well
they wear like iron there a true radial  real smooth riding and there tough as nails.
the swamp liters are a good tire but wear quick due to there soft compound
im also selling my 27in horns with just about 200miles on them, if you decde on a bighorns.

i have the 26x11x14 horns on a brute and have no complaints but also got a buddy with 28x10x12 lites and he has no complaints. his are already showing some pretty good wear on the center treads after about 200 miles now. really no mud competition between us but would bet i can go anywhere he can. trails and handeling are horns all day.

another point with that rhino being heavier it will cause lites to wear even quicker.

having both the SL's make the BH look like girly tires. The BH are better in the rocks for sure but thats about it and they last longer .

Agreed..... I cant see how anyone could say that the Big Horns grip as good as the Swamp Lites on anything but black top? Just look at the obvious differences in em, its like comparing fangs to molars!

i will say that the horns grab better on wet rocks, stumps, logs
ive had both tires and the horns without a dought imo work better in those situations

I was disapointed after buying the BH's and seeing them for the first time in real life. I expected them to have a deeper tread on them. The SL's are a more versatile tire ie... better in more conditions then the BH's. But nothing beats the BH's in rock climbing. Really cant go wrong with either . But I give the nod to the SL's .IMO
