I have a set of 26X12X12 outlaws on my 08 bigbear and was wanting a narrower tire for the front and was thinking of putting 27X10X12 Carlisle Swamp Pro's  (Vampire Clones)on the front. A local shop has the Swamp Pros for $45 each and it sounds like a good deal. Let me know if you think this pair would work well or if I should go down a different road. I figured since the Swamp Pro feels like such a hard tire I would save the other two Outlaws so I would have a spare set for the back.

Wow. I know a guy who paid closer to $100 each for some Swamp Pros. Pardon me while I go laugh at him.

I know. There is a place in Tuckerman, Ar called CC Burgess that has a butt load of Mud tires for $45-$55 and the tires are new not used. They had Essex Surfoots, Vampires, Swamp Pro's  all for $45.  The only problem is he might not have but two or three of each tire and he does not know when or if he will get more of that brand so you are taking a chance if you want a complete set but great tires for the price.

If you can get Vamps for the same price as Swamp Pro's go that way.

I bought two of the 27X10X12 Swamp pro because I have 26X12X12 Outlaws on the front and rear right now and wanted somthing a little narrower up front. The 27X10X12 Vampires were about 1.5-2.0" Narrower then the Swamp pros and I thought they would not look and mud as good. The wider swamp pro felt about the same weight as the narrower Vampire and the rubber on the swamp pro felt harder. It is one bad A$$ looking tire.

I scored a pair of 26x12.5-12 swamp pros for $130 shipped last week. - From everything I've read they were discontinued by carlisle(who doesn't list them on their site at all). Definitely a bit heavy, but a tough looking tire. Very similiar tread to a vamp, but a bigger farther wrapped around side lug and 6 ply instead of 4.

I think you'll be very please with them on the front. I wish they were still in production...
