1) Price! King was brand new (and unproven) I got my Vinny for $2500 with winch, heated grips, plow, skid plates, bumpers, and a clutch kit.
2) Stability. Being new to ATVs at the time, it was easy to see (and feel) that a solid rear axle bike could corner flatter (less roll)
3) Hauling. SRA bikes suspension is little affected by heavy trailer tongue weights, and GC does not go down with a heavy load on the back of the bike.

That said, I DO plan on getting a King someday. Most likely for my 40th Birthday in spring of 2008.
Till then, my Vinny STILL rocks! It handles more like a big sport bike than a small Ute!

i almost got the king when i bought my 05 auto vinson but that was around the same time the kings were still having transmission trouble. then when i bought my 06 manual i chose it over the king because i knew how reliable the vinsons are and i wanted the manual transmission.

Those vinsons are real tuff machines, i've seen alot of them in action and most don't even put olot of mods. on them. The guys i ride with just buy thiers and put tires on them and ride the crap out of them.

1.  Price
2..  At the time, the Kings had just came out.  I've never bought a first year model anything, and didn't plan to start.

I WILL own one, one day!

BTW, I coudl have gotten a Grizz for $200 more than my Vinson, but I didn't like Yamahas financing at the time.  (I know, I know)

The price!

SRA!

at the time i liked the way it looked. i wanted a SRA over an independent, and a Manual or Auto. so thats why i got mine and i was glad i picked it, i didnt know much more than that on it at the time. so i was shootin in the dark when i bought it. oh and i liked the Sub Tranny, in Manual as well .

but the King is on the top of my List so far!

vinny over KQ.............well lets see,

1) price fit our budget better, especially when i went back and bought a second one for my wife.
2) POWER the 500 vinson is still one of the top in it's 500 class.
3) wanted a manual tranny

those are my top 3 reasons.  honestly we were looking at a foreman till the local dealer got pizzy about price and didn't want to deal, so i said the helz with a honda!  started looking at zuki's, researched the vinny's and liked what i read.  we also looked at the AC 500's but the price difference kinda sucked.

our vinny's have been TANKS, everything i've put them threw, they've done great!!  even with the massive 11" of ground clearance in the rear, lol!!  one of these days i'll be ready for an upgrade, just don't want to tgive up a vinny to do it, lol!

I was in the same boat TeamMudd is talking about. I was originally looking at the foreman because I already had one, but the folks at G&C Honda arent the friendliest to deal with. So I went to Mansfield Cycle world and fell in love with my Vinny. I wanted a Manual trans, and the Hi Lo feature was a top selling point.

It pains me to say it but the Vinny is for sale. I need a new house, BAD! I've got an add in the ForSale section if ya'll are interested.

I wanted a manual tranny as I use it around the farm and like to be able to hold a gear.  I plan on getting a King next spring but I plan on keeping the vinson til its DEAD haha.  It is a great machine, plenty of power, great handling and capable.
