well the easy way to do it is find where ur neutral wire hooks to the motor and just ground it somewhere on the motor the light will always stay on though but if u dont care then thats the easiest way

I don't recommend grounding the neutral wire.  That is the redneck way of doing things.

Is this for the '98 Foreman 450 in your sig?

whats redneck about if it works keep things simple they always work better that way i mean if u change up where it goes into the cdi ur gonna have to ground something somewhere to get it to think its in neutral so why not do it the simple way

I have heard that on an es you are not able to shift gears again till you shut it off and put it in N first....

If I have to explain why that is an improper procedure then you obviously wouldn't understand the reason.

Yes I want to do it on my 98 450 foreman

i have done the 400 start in gear mod in the stickys (important link for honda owners) and works great on the older 450's with foot shift (I haven't tried it on the newer ones with trax lock or electric shift)

Just tie into the wire on the solenoid (don't remember the color) and run that to a switch and then run the other switch to ground.  I have heard to run it to whatever it goes to under the front fenders and not by the solenoid.  Works great for me.

It will work on an ES but if you leave the switch on for say 15 seconds it wont let you shift. All you have to do is turn the key off then back on again to reset it. Simple fix, just use the switch when needed.
