Status: offline 		Working in the oil industry.....When I try to explain to people exactly what I do in my job, it's sometimes difficult to get them to understand.This may put it in a way that makes it easier to grasp.1. We work weird shifts.... Like prostitutes.2. They pay you to make the client happy.... Like prostitutes.3. The client pays a lot of money, but your employer keeps almost every penny... Like prostitutes.4. You are rewarded for fulfilling the client's dreams... Like prostitutes.5. Your friends fall apart and you end up hanging out with people in the same profession as you.... Like prostitutes.6. When you have to meet the client you always have to be perfectly groomed... Like prostitutes.7. But when you go back home it seems like you are coming back from hades... Like prostitutes.8. The client always wants to pay less but expects incredible things from you... Like prostitutes.9. When people ask you about your job you have a difficult time explaining it... Like prostitutes.10. Everyday when you wake up you tell yourself that you aren't going to spend the rest of your life doing this crap... Like prostitutes. The only difference is that prostitutes can take Christmas and New year's eve off and they actually do make a lot of money!!!

Status: offline 		Oh so true. Iv been out there almost 7 years now. Now im on (at the moment) Noble top of line rig. Shakerhand. I believe were in the Almonios Canyon right now. I cant remember right off the top of my head the block number. Were almost in Mexico though. the Prostitute thing is so true. I really hate when you see another person who you help out and work with and even show them some stuff gets promoted over you.  it makes me wanna  but i dont know of any other thing i would like to do lol.

Status: online 		well im on ensco 86, currently in mobile bay at mobile 830 "the flying squirrel" for devon energy and we just TDed night before last at 22,500ft.  started POOH @ 6am yesterday and finished laying down BHA @ 9:40 last night and are now logging with E-line. if this one makes a well we will be in mobile bay for about another yr.  im a roughneck and been doing this goin on 5 yrs and if everythong goes right will be derrickhand before too long (since i basicaly do his job anyways) i worked for pride on the pride utah as a shakerhand for 3.5yrs and ensco for a lil over a year now.
