I'm trying to find a snorkel kit for my 08 rincon but can't.  I called some places and they want to charge me $300 coustom build and install.  Is that about right?  I would try myself but i'm clueless about trying to build snorkels.

It's not hard at all...and should cost you about 450 in parts.
Here's a link to pics of mine...

$450 to snorkel a Rincon? More like $50 at home depot. Dont forget about your front and rear differential vent lines as well as the crank vent line. You can pick up the same type of hose Honda uses at Home Depot for about $10 for over 50 ft.

Hopefully he meant 4.50!!!Itll cost about 200-300 IF you want to buy a snorkel designed for your bike,BUT they wont install. It will cost you 5.00-50.00 to buy all the nessasary pipe and other things needed to CUSTOM design one for your bike.Ask around on highlifter, someone may be able to help you out......

it all depends on what your planning on doing. You will MOST likely have to run 2",because Ranchers run off 1 1/2 stock. If you put a pipe and programmer you will need 2" for sure....

2'', because 1 1.5'' is too restirictive.

I ran 1.5 inch on mine and it runs great.  If you go with 2" without a fi controller, your bike won't run right.

Cost around $30.00 to do mine, but I did a stealth one.

Actually he meant $50. He just forgot to hit shift, 4 = $. I reccomend a stealth snorkel, its high enough and all you need is a $20 2.5" shop vac hose.

Sorry...my typing mistake...yes...I missed the shift key.
I meant $50.

Mac is right...the stealth snorkel is the least expensive, and easiest way to go.
It's also more than adequate for 95% of the people out there.
If I ever replace my plastic...I'll be changing my snorkel to a stealth snorkel.

There ya go.
Should be about a 30 minute job and you're ready to go.
Well...maybe another 30 minutes or so to extend the vent lines up.

Do you need to know where to buy the tubing to use to extend them?
I got mine at Lowes.
I got 1/4" tubing for everything but the water pump.It takes 3/8" tubing.

Brian May, I used .170 ID tubing to do mine, and I used about 22' of tubing. For the water pump I used 3/16 ID tubing, and used about 5' of it. Hope this helps.

About a foot of 2" PVC, some connectors and a few feet of 1 1/2" spa hose. DC and marvin are good on the tubing, and run it to under your pod, or up your snork, depending on what you want.

Let me know if you want more pics.

FYI Brian, there are several of the guys that posted on your thread that belong to another good site, rinconriders.com. Great site for guys who own the best bike on the planet. Seriously though, there is a great amount of knowledge and information on there. And you can do a search on there and find several threads on snorkeling your bike.

Ohh, yeah...doing your own snorkel is easy, thats where I got my plans, rincon riders.  I ran mine out the side and up the fender with hard pipe and no holes.  Stealth is going to be next for me.

sounds like a plan. if you take about 7 to 8 inches of 2inch white hard pvc pipe and stick it in your stock airbox hole that should give you a good start then you can pretty much do what you want.

there is 2 on the rear diff, one on the front diff, and the water pump is the most important. on the right side(same side as the pull start) on the bottom of the water pump is a small gold looking tube. this is the water pump weep hole. from time to time it wil drop a lil coolant. if you do not vent this all the way up to the pod it will suck up a lil bit of mud, sand, etc. and this will eat up the water pump seal and the impeller costing about 500 bucks for a new pump and shop time. also it is very important to seal up your pull starter. the same thing will happen here exept it will be the motor not just the water pump.

Pull the cover off on the right side.  The pull start is there, I promise!  Silicone the weep hole at the bottom, the handle where it rests in the cover, and where the rope goes through the handle.
