I want to make my 06 foreman 500 waterproof...Since it's electric shift I was wondering if it would short out if it got wet. Is it easy to snorkel and does anyone have any pics of snorkel job?

use 1 1/2 spaflex hose that you can find at homedepot or lowes. you can also glue pvc or abs to it. as far as water proffing, run all your vent lines (front and rear diffs, water pump if you have one carb, everything you can think of) to the gauge pod and loop them over. put dielectric grease in and on ALL of your plugs. and i mean all of them. that is about it i think.

and seal up the pull start, re-route the crankcase breather so it loops up over your carb, put a 2nd one way valve in your carb drain

if its like the 450s it is in the airbox and runs right down into the crankcase

what if I just plugged my carb drain, instead of putting in a 2nd valve?

here are some pics of my wifes snorkel i did ill try to get some of the air box while i got it tore apart

i went with 1.5" out of the box to get away from the motor then i used a rubber reducer to go to 2"

here you can see i went threw the fender i used a 2" rubber coupling to make tare down easier ans some elbows to get it where i waanted it

i had some diamond plate laying around so i made a holder for the snorkel and the 90 on top is not glued on and im thinking about putting in another rubber coupling at the plate just incase she hits a tree limb and breaks it the rubber will give it some leaway

i didnt run the crankcase breather all i did was put some RTV around the connections and sealed off the air box real good so far ir has done good  now im having trouble getting it to run right jetting problem...i hope this helps

sure you can just plug it. that is what I have done for ever, but I often forget to plug it when I get the urge to play, then Im stuck in the middle cuz I sucked up water. If I do remember to plug it I sometimes forget to unplug it then it floods, and fills the airbox full of gas, now you got no gas cuz its all in the airbox OR its all in the oil if you didnt reroute CC breather.   I would just get the second valve from the auto store of your choice or as much as I hate to say it I heard the popo valve works great. Itll save you headaches in the long run. Also without rerouting CC breather and you roll it in the water(which happens more than you think) your gonna get water in your oil. I HIGHLY suggest rerouting the breather.
