Well I bounced off a rock last weekend
No serious damage done, just tweaked one of the mounting tabs on the front bash gaurd. I straitened it easily.
Now I realize how insufficient the stock skids are.
There's a dude on ebay selling a 7pc set for $312 bucks shipped to the door. Looks like he manufactures them himself and will make them out of diamond plate or smooth alum or steel. Anybody have these??

I don't know about those but check out Aluminum Products. They are a more expensive though. I have the stick guards and I love them. I would suggest shopping around before you make the deal and make sure you know exactly what you are ordering when you buy on ebay.

The guy on ebay is from Ky and works with a friend of mine. I started to buy a full set from him before I bought my ricochets but he seemed a little too eager to get money. I just asked him a question and he sent me a request for money through paypal. Kinda strange I thought. My friend got a bash plate from him and it looked decent but had really sharp edges.

i know 4 bikes(2 08 king quads and 2 08 brutes) running skids from this guy.  i have seen his diamond plate and mil finish.  he does really good work and he has a brute so the brute skids are extra good.  his are just as good as ricochet

I ordered the 5 piece from this guy, no problems, I paod 150 for the 4 cv guards and the front Bash plate/skid.  Like I said no problems, got them quick too. I have no affiliation with the guy, as you can see I am in Tennessee, Just shootin it straight.  But its always good to be careful buying from ebay etc.  Good Luck, also they all fit very well and hardware was included.

I'm running the richochet Center skids with the High Lifter A-Arm Guards on my 08, They fit together very nice with no trimming! You cant beat the protection from the HL A-Arm skids, If HL would have made a front bash plate for the 08 I would have bought the complete set! I really liked them on my 05.

I ordered my full set of Ricochet Skid Plates from the manufacturer of the Ricochet Skid Plates, Don Gibbs, owner of Utah Sport Cycle, (866) 273-1197.
http://utahsportcycle.com/store/page4.html

I’ve worked with aluminum all my life but it was cheaper and faster for me to buy them pre-made

Good luck,
Jim
