Status: offline 		Ok. Well I got a buyer online (not HL) and he is wanting me to send him the vin numbers. is this safe to do? This is my first time selling something online and wanted to make sure it is ok to send him my vin numbers

Status: online 		i would send them only AFTER i got paid. there is no reason to give it up unless he has some way of tracking the number to see if it is a stolen unit.?????

Status: online 		What's so secret about the VIN number?  If he's trying to finance it with an ATV loan, then the bank will more than likely need it.  In cases like this I just ask for the bank name and number, then call the loan officer yourself and give it to them.  You're not in any danger by giving them the VIN of the bike.

Status: offline 		Yeah what swamp monster said. Whats he gonna do make out a fake title with his name and come steal your wheeler. The bank needs it. I went through the same thing so i just went and bought one from the dealer. Got tired of waiting on vin #'s

Status: offline 		i just sold mine online and gave out the vin# before any money was exchanged.i dont see that anything that could happen, by giving it out.and like everyone said,the bank would need the vin# to finance it

Status: offline 		i also agree. no harm in releasing the vin#. banks do want that info. I had one financed at the credit union. they need it just like they would for a motorcycle or car.

yes there is no harm in giving the vin number out. he will need it for financing anyways
