I took the Rhino sheave off today to install the Orange secondary, 450 weights, and washer mod.  I kept thinking about the sheave's that everyone sells for the Rhino's to gain top speed, which I don't need.  But I decided to pull the Grizzly sheave just for information purposes.  The sheaves have different parts #'s.

Grizzly # 3B400, weights have green outer edge

Rhino  # 5B400, weights have purple outer edge

The Grizzly appears to have a bigger slope for the weights to run up in, but it's very hard to tell, they are almost identical.

I would love to know the weights of these 2 different factory primary weights.  I don't have a small scale to weigh them so I was hoping someone on here could tell me.

Here is the Rhino sheave:

Here is the Grizzly sheave:

Bought a small scale today.

I just measured the stock Grizzly weights with cover and it's 21 grams.  With 4 Grizzly weights and 4 Kodiak weights, orange secondary, and washer mod I was hitting the rev limiter at about 30 mph.  It has tons of bottom end pull now, and the washer mod seems to really lower the gearing.

I'm going to pull the primary this evening and weigh the Rhino primary's.  I need more weight than what I have now.

Stock rhino weights are 15.5 g's without the teflon cover.  I'm currently running 14 g weights with a purple/white secondary spring, UTVcrap.com machined sheave and the washer mod, with a stock wet clutch, and see 56mph with 26" mst's

All speeds are Checked with GPS.

The grizz sheeve will keep your top end at 40  with kodiak 400 weights and the washer mod.Or close to 50mph all stock.Add the grizz cdi and get @ 7-9 more mh.

Well I got 52mph uphill tonight.  Grizzly sheave, dynatek, and removed the washer mod.  Still have the orange secondary.

Thats a 700 on stockers? A 660 would hit closer to 58-60.

Stock tires.  I guess the Grizzly sheave doesn't give as much top end as the aftermarket sheaves.  NO washer mod, stock weights, and orange secondary.

My rpm's were getting very high at 52mph.  I didn't have any more room in my subdivision to keep going.

It might be setup just about right when I add some 26" or 27's later on.

Yep, I see, your doing all the swapping on the 700 rhinos, I did the same thing with the 660s 4 years ago.As far as I can tell, were gonna have a hard time outrunning the 660 rhinos.

The 660's are gonna get smoked when I get done

I'm shooting for 70 mph.  Probably won't get there, but the path will be fun.

Alright, time for an update:

Pulled the Dyantek so I could get a stock to stock comparison.  Using stock tires.

Grizzly sheave 45 mph cut out.

Rhino sheave 42 mph cut out.

Not enough difference to worry about, I guess I will have to go with an aftermarket sheave.  Hunterworks and Trinity Racing are the top 2 on my list.

The Rhino is really becoming fun with stock tires, I can get to 40 really quick now.  MODS.

Have you noticed some companies require your old sheave as a core?  What do you think happens to those cores?  Do you really want someone else's used sheave?

I like Hunterworks, $210 shipped.  New sheave from Yamaha.

well i didnt see where they wanted a core? the only reason i thought about one of these is cause it comes with weights and shims that might give some more low end power that i lost with my 27s. like i say the only thing i dont like about it is the price. and the fact that i havent seen any real feedback from anyone that i would trust.

more than likely i will get the hunterworks or trinity.
