Basically, it raises the radiator above the mud, keeping it up high, she'll see more air also, so that is a benefit.

It will still get dirty though if your slingin mud around and such.
But it will also get dirty and possibly clogged up under your plastics,
since its in the path of the mud hole when its mounted beneath the plastics.

i looked at this thread 5 or 6 times, every time i would type something up and change my mind.
I dont know much about the swap, i never did it, i never had a reason why to do it.
i would much rather keep my radiator beneath my plastics and more protected.
I use to do nothing but trail riding. Thats my input.

If you mud ride it will keep the radiator from getting slogged up with mud. With a rincon specifically the oil cooler is mounted so close on the front of the radiator that it will get mud trapped behind it and that will cause the bike to run very very hot. Also with the rad above the rack its much easier to clean. If you dont want to relocate your rad then you can pull the 4 bolts that hold the oil cooler and put a few washers on each bolt between the oil cooler and rad to space it out and then you can clean it easier.

If you're riding in mud moving the radiator is a must. You cannot clean it under the bike. Mud will eventually turn your radiator into a big brick. When i moved mine it was packed solid. No wonder I was having an overheating problem.

Exactly what Diggler said.  When I relocated the one on the Vinson it was packed solid.  I had to soak the radiator in a pan of water over night to loosed it up enough to even wash it out.
