Definitely the best mod I ever did to my Rincon.
Overheating is the biggest pain in the butt flaw that the Rincon has.
You can put spacers between the radiator and oil cooler...but this won't stop the overheating after a good dip in any thick mud.

Go for it...you won't regret it.

Thanks.
Unfortunately...it died in Hurricane Ike.
It sat upside down in salt water for 4 days.

Dang dude that sucks that is a gorgeous Rinny! I will say it is the best mod I've done to my Rancher too, simple to do and the bike didn't run this cool when it was brand new. Hey dcfox did you make the brackets for your relocate or buy them, they look top notch. Heres what mine looks like.

i've been wanting to do this to mine... but worried about hitting it on something while riding... Mine has not over heated yet, so i dont think its worth it for 50% mud 50%trail.

Yes it is! Very much so worth it, you can make the rad so it is almost flat so long as you can pivot it up to fill it and get the air out. Plus anything that is going to hit the rad on the trail and cause any harm at all is going to hit YOU next so its going to hurt either way lol. If you move the stock shield with the rad like I did it will deflect all of the small stuff and you just have to be a little more carefull around the big stuff.

i have trouble as it is with the snorkles, stopping to prevent them from being broke off.  I just can't even think about a tree knocking a hole in the radiator.  You got any pics of yours that i could see?

All the pics I got of mine are in this post, the first ones are from before I painted it but there are finished pics too. http://www.highlifter.com/forum/m_2954612/mpage_1/tm.htm The only one I got thats not in that post is the one thats right above in this one. It really is worth it for anybody that rides in mud not just for those that only ride in mud. I still do close to 50/50 trail/mud and have not had an issue yet.

Yeah... I made the brackets out of 1/4" by 1" bar stock I got from TSC.(about $10 for a 4 foot stick).
The rest of the brackets and cover were made using scrap material we had laying around from other projects.

And as for insurance...yes...I was insured.
Geico treated me wonderfully.I'd recommend them to anyone.
Best $11/month I've spent.
