Oh yea forgot to mention that the fan I'm running is a Perma-Cool 8" 2500cfm and it almost covers the whole rad surface, had to trim the shroud on the fan some for it just to fit. It pulls a lot more air then the factory one did. Anybody happen to know how many amps the factory fan pulled?

Thanks muddyfuzzy I'll find out Sunday how it works I'm sure I'll be pleased.

If you ride lots of mud its the best thing you can do, wont have to worry about "when" its going to get hot because it wont anymore..

I would smooth over the edges on the bracket on the bottom those corners will get you one day

put up some pixs when its all done and painted up

Forgive my ignorance since I'm new to the whole quad scene, but what is the purpose of this?  Your radiator is sealed and unless you stay under water for an extremely long period of time, wouldn't your rad work in the stock position?

putting it on the front rack keeps it out of the mud and keeps the fins clean = less prone to over heat

Yea I'm going to get all the edges smoothed over a little better then they are when I paint it next week or so. I'm going to hit everything, radiator too, with black and put the Honda wing on the shield prob in silver to match the factory decals.

I was doing the same thing finally convinced myself to do it, and honestly it was really easy. I'm kinda kicking myself in the tail for not doing it sooner. I think it looks even tougher now too.

go for it man, it's not much of a problem in crosby because it's mostly sand mixed in with the water. but the further north you go it's becomes that thick gumbo mud and it really likes to stay in the rad. i did the can-am for 30.00$ with alum. from lowes.

yea ill end up doin it ,crosbys no problem there but i went to general sams 2 weeks ago, yep she started to over heat only once but it was jammed with some nasty mud, still the only thing that worries me is if i roll it one day, i havnt rolled it in almost 1 yr ,......well ive layed it on its side a few times guess what im gonna do is build a heavy duty roll cage around it .

You can lay them down flat if you want as well, they dont have to be standing up, i made mine lay down as much as i could with my snorkels where they are, then put ammo boxes on each side for storage and to help protect it from a roll over.
if you lay them flat you just need enough hose on them so you can stand it up while you fill it up other wise it dont matter.

Go for it man, I rode it after I got home from work for 1 1/2 hrs or so and the fan came on once for about 10-15 sec, thats it! Mine has NEVER taken that long to turn the fan on or been on for that short a time, I seriously thought the new fan was broken cause it wouldn't come on for a long time, but the over temp light wasn't coming on either. I rode it as hard as I could through the woods around my house, just in case it was going to break I wouldn't have far to push it lol. I didn't have a problem at all, I am kicking myself in the A$$ BIG TIME for not doing it sooner. When I pulled the radiator out the outer 5-6 rows of fins were solid clogged with mud, but not anymore .

I rode it for about 4 1/2hrs today and still the fan hardly came on at all. I'm extremely happy with how it came out, its exceeded my expectations by a lot. I am really kicking myself for not doing this sooner now lol. I will make sure to get some finished pics up for you guys prob by the end of next week after I get it painted. I got a mud bog to get my truck ready for this coming sunday, I am going to try and get it all painted somtime this week.
