Me and mudlabspecialist had my rzr in a bind Sunday. We tried to reverse out of the hole and when we did a horrible popping noise started. Didn't do it in forward, just reverse. We got out and helped the bike out backwards while giving it gas and it didn't pop. Checked axles and 4wd and everything was still working great. Is there some sort of torque limiter in the drive shaft or transmission or what? I'm confused because it seems as though it was the driveshaft to the front, but all that popping should have broken the u joint, but it didn't! Any clues?

Maybe the cage in the front dif? No torque limiter though.

mine did something similar and it was two bolt came loose in the tranny mount. Everytime I hit the gas it would pop thought it was a joint but wasn't

Stupid ? But... What bolts came loose? Was it on the outside of tranny? Or on the inside of the tranny? Just curious b/c mine started popping at mudstock. Any more info on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

When/where was yours popping? If you haven't removed the hubs and greased them and flipped your front washers it will start popping in the front hubs when you turn. Mine was popping like crazy backing out of that hole Sunday, but like I said once out it quit and the 4wd was still working great and it never popped again. I think the driveshaft was just in a bind.

I hink mine is the outer cage on my rear axle, I didn't exactly get a good break in on them due to that event, picked it up the day before mudstock.

mine does it when its in a bind. forward or reverse. talked to several other RZR owners and they have said them same.

Time for a rebuild kit for the rears. I wasn't planning on it this early, but I knew the risk when I took it.

My buddy bought an 09 limited in the orange with 29.5s on it and he has only ridden it twice and has a busted cage in the rear left inner.

The Rears will not hold up to big tires. I broke several before I finaly bought some Monkeys. They were expensive but they did not break.

The bolts I was talking about were the ones on the driver side rear . The two bolts that hold the tranny to the frame , the rubber mounted mount. The two bolt had nearly came out and when u hit the gas it would throw the drveline in a bind. One side of tranny would come up like 3 inches. Called the dealer they said it was a factory mess up. I tightin them up and no more probs so far.
