I am changing out a broke rear axle on my polaris rzr, and when I pulled the hub off of the axle, the outter bearing race stayed on the hub but the bearing is still in the birdcage. Is this normal ?  This is the first time for me to change an axle, so I wasn't sure. Thanks

Sounds like your bearing came apart, might want to replace it.

Yes the mud and water will get in there and eat up those bearings, prolly time to change them.

Well Im not worried about mud and water getting in there because it isnt a sealed bearing, It has a seperate seal That is still in good shape. Just worried about the race. I put it back together and so far all is good. I repacked it with grease and let it roll.
