I need to replace one of my low beam bulbs. I cant find the 894 bulb anywhere. I know the 893 is the same but the end is straight instead of a 90 on the plug end. I was going to get the 880 4000K. Does anyone know if those will be a lot brighter than the stock ones? I have read on here and a couple of guys are running the 880 6000k with new ballast mounted inside the front box. But I don't want to do the ballast. The lights I was going to get actually draw less than the stock ones, but I just want to know if they are going to be brighter.

You can't go to a true HID without a ballast.  HID (High Intensity Discharge) work by creating an electric arc through gas.  Once the arc is established they are very efficient and don't take a large amount of energy, but they do require a huge startup charge to make the arc.

The bulbs that Ed just put up are a Xenon bulb which look whiter than halogen, but are not an HID.

It all depends on how bright you want to go. The true HID's are very, very bright.
