Looking for opinions...

I'm considering one of these 2 pairs of speakers to go in my split tube system.

1. Polk Audio db650
2. Bazooka MAC650B

Both are in the same price range and specs are comparable.

The Polks actually have a little broader frequency range and a little higher peak power handling capability.
However...what I'm interested in is real world sound and durability.
Which is better suited for the environment and abuse we subject our ATV speakers to?

out of those choices id go bazooka, but if it were me id spend a few more dollars and go with memphis marine speakers, theyll be louder than either of those.

The only thing that bugs me about the Memphis speakers is that I can't take the grills off and paint them black since they are a 1 piece speaker/grill assembly.

My bike is completely black and a pair of white speakers would stick out like a sore thumb.

i think the grills can be taken off.... a guy that rides with us has his memphis painted silver and another has his painted black, idk if they just painted them with the grills on or what but they look good.

I've had them both and the Polk's sound alot better and you can crank them up and there more crisp sounding.  the Polk's are more rugged for the enviroment.  I ended up selling the box I built for it and now built a new one with 4 polk db691 6x9's

The 6x9s have a lot "fuller" sound.

jl audio marine speakers would be my choice..and if not jl id try to go with kicker i have had both sets of speakers, you just cant beat a jl on sound quality, except with Focal, but who wants to spend $500 bucks on two speakers??
