Simplest thing i can say is there are no cons... You can alway nit pick something to death but if your looking for a fast, narrow, highly capable sxs rzr is the way to go... If you want something slow to work out of go buy a rhino. Want something that blaze a trail and keep up with all the atv friends but still crawl through some mud get the rzr. Father has a rzr, 2 inch lift 27 inch swamp lites( not my choice) and not to mention less then 50 dollars to snorkel. That thing goes everywhere and we are talking neck deep water, and some really tight and technical trails. Only con is there is no drain on the clutch housing.... Hope that helps

I've had my RZR for several months now and just love it.  However, that being said there are some cons. The biggest con is the poor airbox design.  I just got mine back from the shop because it needed a new top end due to this poor design.  Yes, Polaris did back it up and did the work at no cost to me but I do see it as a con.  I was still without my machine for several weeks. Supposedly they are coming out with a fix later this year.  We'll see what happens, but in any case you shouldn't have to spend hunders of dollars on a reconfigured airbox to fix this problem.

I rode with about 10 razrs this weekend, to me they are small and tight for two adults and for trail riding to low to the ground. It will go thru the water and the mud but the difference is I got my feet wet and they got wet up to their chests. Long as this doesnt bother you they are awesome.

bopfly, can you expound on the design flaw of the air box for us?

Basically the airbox lets dust and dirt past the filter into the throttle body and eventually into your engine destroying the top end. The stock filter is about worthless.  I know mine is a Gen 1 and all you do is slip it on and then put the cover on hoping you get a good seal on the far end of the filter.  I didn't trust that at all so the first thing I did was buy the KMS set up.  At least that provides for a K&N with a clamp that you tighten through a hole you put in the airbox.  It seemed a little better to me although as dry as it's been herer the past few weeks I may try a UNI and see how it does.

You also need to be aware of the hose coming off the valve cover to the airbox.  It has a slit in it that let's in most anything.  When they took my top end apart they said it was caked with mud and dirt. Very poor set up.  I simply taped up the slit.

As far as the size comments go, my fiance and I ride it no problem.  I'm not a big guy - about 5'8", 190 and she's not very big either. So the size is great as far as we're concerned.  Clearance hasn't been a problem either but I have 28's with a 2" lift and HL springs.  I hit most any mud hole my sone does on his lifted Sportsman and clear just fine.

I don't want you all to think I'm bad mouthing the RZR.  There is no machine out there that is going to be perfect for everyone in every situation.  I love the RZR.  I think it's an awesome machine and all the after market parts available for it make it a blast to own.  You can certainly build it out to whatever you want limited only by the size of your bank account. I definitely don't regret buying one and would even like to get another for my son in the near future. So I do recommend it but it is not perfect.  Hopefully Polaris will come out with a fix for these issues and everything will be good!

its just like anything else. there are people who will consider that a deal breaker, or those of us who mod to accomidate how we ride, or where we ride. had to move my rad, we ride in mud trails mostly that your frame drags. no solid rear axels follow us unless they have axel paddles. those people put paddles on for there enviroment they can ride in. draggin your frame in these ruts just scoops mud up to the rad, which has been since moved higher on the 09 sportsmans. i have driven a couple of friends razr's and honestly, they are so freaking fun its not even funny. its not funny cause my wife wants one now. lol.

Ya right, you got your feet wet....   If they are getting wet up to their cheat, you are getting more than your feet wet.  With my 2" lift, 26" bighorns and my springs turned up 2 notches, I have more ground clearance more than a Sportsman with my RZR.  The seat sits higher than the bottom of the machine.  Yes you sit higher on an ATV, but you my friend are a BSer in reguards to that.

I was in my Artic cat, not on my sportsman it sits you well above the mud and
water, when we hit a hole that gets my feet wet them razr boys start holding their breath. LOL Nobodys talking ground clearence we are talking how far your butt is off the ground.
