Ok so through the 400 topics I've made I think I have finally figured out what I want and would like some opinions.  I'm gunna keep the 12in wheels for a while and go with the 28in outlaw mst's.  Should I go 12 on all 4 corners  or 9.5/12 combo?  Also looked under the seat and what a surprise no aftermarket cdi lol.  I'm gunna go with the dynatek cdi.  Is there a better one out there?  Now as far as the clutch kit goes I think I've decided on the HL kit.  Should I go with the standard upgrade or extreme kit for the 28s?  Is there a better one out there?  On top of these things the brute has full pro circuit exhaust and cams.  Well I believe it has cams just because of how it runs and sounds.  Been around cars and racecars all my life so I'm jus making an educated guess that it does have cams.  Anyway to know 100% without tearin the top end of the motor down?  Is there anything else I can do performance wise without getting into big bore kits and internals?  Thanks.

Getting the whole clutch kit is a waste of money. You truely only need the secondary spring. You can run 12"s on all four corners but you are gonna be more prone to bent tie rods. I'm not a big fan of pro circut but to each their own. If the guy lied about the CDI I am sure he lied about the cams. It is a V twin. LOL they all sound like that. Was it ever properly jetted for that pipe. If not you are gonna want to throw a dyna jet jet kit in there to get her runnin right with the new cdi and the exhaust. Just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions.

On the tires, it all depends on how you like to ride. I have 9.5's all the way around but some people don't like all skinny tires, some like skinny in the front and wide on the back, some even want wide all the way around. That is a choice you'll have to make. You can see my pics on my myspace page to give you an idea of my setup.

On the CDI, Dynatek is probably the most common. I have the Moose CDI and I believe that I read on here that it is the same CDI with a different name printed on it. A friend of mine has the dynatek and I don't see any differences in the two.

On the clutch, Polaris425 wroteup a spring comparison for us.

Maroon (Lighter than stock. Not the same as the maroon primary)
Black (Almost same as stock)
Almond( Good for 27'' and lighter 28'')
Green ( Good for heavier 27'' and all 28" )
Lime green( Good for heavier 28'' and maybe 29.5")
Red (Perfect for 29.5'' and the lighter 30")
Yellow ( Good on only 30'' or larger most aggressive tires)

After you decide if you want the skinny tires, half wide, or all wide, get just the spring that corresponds to that combo and the primary puller. You will also need a spring compressor that you can get an idea how to make here http://mudinmyblood.proboards102.com/index.cgi?board=howto&action=display&thread=52  It will be much cheaper than buying the whole kit. That way you don't have a full set of springs that you paid for but are only using one out of the package.

I also agree with devildog, it's a V Twin, it will sound much stronger than other bikes that you may be used to. If the guy that you bought it from only had exhaust and lied about the CDI, chances are they are going to be stock cams. I also agree to get a jet kit. With the upgrades that you plan on doing and the chance that the exhaust is on with the possibility of no jetkit...it may be a good investment.

Hope my ideas helped you out and not just give you more choices to sift through.....lol

Depending on how you wanna ride I would get the maroon or pink primary and black secondary spring. Also you dont need a primary puller to do any of that. They are good to have but not a neccesity. As said above I would probably get a jet kit to make sure everything is running right. Now for the cams it dont work like on a car. I won't slow the "Chop" down to a point  that you can count the hits off like a car.

Yea thats kind of where my thoughts lay bout the cams also.  I dont guess there is anyway to know other than getting into the motor is there?  So based on the recommendations i would need the green secondary and it would be good for the tires?  Also is there a good guestimate point to start with on the jets?

With no snorkels, the jet kit will give you good recommendations. If you have snorkels, it will be slightly different and will have to guess. We can get you somewhat close though. Just need to know where you are and what size pipe and elbow you are using.

Yea no snorkels just the full exhaust and uni air filter right now.  The cdi will be added in sept.  And unfortunately unless there is a way to check without tearin into the motor assume it has stock cams in it (which will also be changed :) As long as it is running well can the jet kit wait till the same time as the cdi?

Yeah you can wait. If the pipe included a jet that was put in you should be close. You need to throw some snorkals on that thing. Let me know and I can give ya a hand one weekend.

Yes, you can wait on the jet kit. You have to add a jet kit if you increase or decrease air flow. With the exhaust and air filter I'm sure it's not as "snappy" as it could be but not sure about the dynatek but my Moose CDI came with a jet kit. I'd buy them both as a package.

Ok so everyone says just get the springs I need for the clutch and not a clutch kit.  Where can I buy just the single springs??
