First let me say I am so glad I found this sight, there is so much information. Anyway, I picked up a 2000 Grizzly a couple of weeks ago for almost nothing, it didn't run, didn't know what was wrong with it. I basically rebuilt the top end, new piston, rings, intake valves (both bent) and timing chain. I now have the thing running pretty good, but I have a few questions. First, when I pulled the oil drain plug a piece fell out in my hand. The parts diagram calls it "Pipe, oil 1". Problem is I think there should have been a strainer and spring that would have had to have come out first. Does anyone know what the spring does? I am wondering if it is some sort of pressure relief or something. Second thing is even though the thing runs pretty good, It sounds real throaty, Almost likr there is no air cleaner on it. Do the all sound that way? Anyway, any help would be appreciated. And if anybody has one of these they are parting out I would definetly be interested in a few things ie. camshaft, rear diff., left front lower a-arm......
