I have been looking at a few trucks this week and really like a titan with the 5.6.  I like the body to them.  But heard they get bad gas mileage as well as loose value fast.  the truck i am getting will have 35s on it and will be a extra cab.  Its really sharp and i want it, but i would like to know anyones feedback they can give me on an estimated MPH i can expect with the lift and tires.

I wanna get it tomorrow, but i am waiting on my trusty highlifter friends to give me the 10-4

Well from what I hear there a hoss. Great horsepower and torque. Im a chevy man and Im even hearin they will out run the new chevys. You can put 35's with a 6" lift kit and be just fine. But if you tow alot you would probally need to re-gear. Idk about gas mileage

I was just about to post something about the Titan! We are looking at getting one today but I've also heard they aren't the best on gas mileage... the one we are getting of course will just be basic, not big tires or lift or anything. Everything I've read online says 17 mpg...is that true or are they worse than that?

there resale value is terrible.  I'm also a GM man.  I just prefer the front end plushness of the GMC Sierra's over all of them.

Buddy of mine got one on 24"s. Still got incridable power. Even compared to my Z71. I would get one. Wish I could get my hands on camogrizz's....

i like their power and looks, but my friend had just too many problems with his. loose seat brackets(seat covering had to be removed to repair), 2 transfer cases(always leaking), while in 4wd it would disengage then you would have to pull over, stop, turn off, then rengage 4wd, warped rotors(a few times), always had a antifreeze smell underhood. all under warranty though. he ended up trading in for dodge mega cab 2500 cummins.

i dont want you to think i'm being a jerk or something but i found these other problems on that forum.

http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-problems-dealer-service/80143-list-your-titans-mechanical-failures.html

it just sounds similar to my friends problems.

Most of the problems you mentioned were all fixed in the 06 and later years.  You have to remeber this is nissans first full size truck and it was released in 04.  It took them a couple of years to work out the bugs, but the 07-08 are pretty much bulletproof, and the 06's were pretty good too.

I have one. I get 19-21 mpg. Zero problems. Best truck I have owned by far. Resale is higher than any American truck. Also has more hp. ANd btw, it is 100% made in America. Also tows a barn. Drive one, you will not buy another GMC truck again. Trust me, I had a Z-71 before I got the Titan. And a F-150 before that, and a Dodge 1500 before that. I just wish they made a deisel.

I love mine too. It's an '05, 4x4 w/off road package and 79000 problem free miles. It tows an 18' traler with four atv's loaded to WV and Tenn several times a year with no problem. I do wish the gas mileage was better, but with my low gears in the package, I really can't complain. I do like the new Tundras a lot too, but I don't think they offer a locking rear diff like I have. Could be wrong on that though. I plan on keeping this truck for many more years though, so I don't even know what the other new trucks are offering.

no but they is a company in california that are custom fitting dana 60's with the new electronics on the titan.  There is also another company that is using the dana 44 out of the jeeps and making the gears fit the titans.  As soon as i get some solid feedback about it thats probably the route im going.  Im planning on 37's after these 35's wear out but i refuse to do it without lower gears and bigger brakes.  Luckily we have plenty of options for brakes i just have to wait for gears.

go get the Tundra!  Alot more power and better fuel economy, but u have to get the 5.7L with 6 speed tranny.  the 4.7L gets horrible gas mileage.  My Bro.-in-law has the tundra and a friend he works with has the Titan and they ride together to work and the one with the Titan said the Tundra get way better gas mileage and more power, but he won't tell him that.  Don't get me wrong, the Titan is one fine machine, and before I bought my dodge I had a 91 nissan p/u and it ran great and got good fuel mileage, but needed a fullsize truck and chose the dodge and I am on my 2nd one (gas mileage sucks too)

Ive driven my uncles 04 and 07... they are ok.. but theres no way i would go sell mine to get one.. You cant beat the Modablity of the LS engines...
It all depends on what you want it for.. IF your goin to leave it stock and use it for a truck is one thing.. but if you want a fast daily driver you cant beat a GM..

You can make them fast,  there are a couple of them in the 12's NA and there are a couple of them in mid 10's with boost or nos.

I know of one that runs a high 12 N/A and mid 12s on spray.. but your goin to pay out the waazoo to mod them also..

how many GMs are in the 12s? 11s? 10s? 9s?

Im sure alot but they also payed decent money to get them there and how many much more GM LS engines are out there compared to the VK56 engine.  Im sure if you looked at the ratios there are the same percent of fast VK56's as there are LS engines.

Basically for the average user who wants a good say mid 14's to high 13 second truck.  The titan stock will take a lot less mods to get them there.  Now if you want a really fast truck say in the 9's-11's you will probably want to look into something else.
