try seeing if one of the battery cables rubbed thru on the frame and may have shorted it. well that wouldnt work cause the batt. wouldnt have voltage if that were the case.

Under the battery there is a plastic clip on box that holds to 30 amp fuses...check them for sure....should be some extras fuses in the top of your main fuse box...if you need them

Key in the right way?

got the right key in it. most keys will fit and turn the ignition but will not do anything for power.

Maybe pull the pod off and make sure none off the plugs became disconnected.I would have sure thought it was one of those fuses in the back because they control alot.

I just had this problem and after a week of a few people trouble shooting we found a wire about 8" into the wiring harness a wire broke at the solder. Talk about a headache. good luck

ya i pretty much tried everything and the closet dealer is 5 hours away, thing is i was at work today and was going to go out once i got off so my budy called me and told me he was going to put my new belt in for me as i was getting off late. So when i got home i ran into this problem as when i went to work everything is ok. all he said he touched was the belt so who knows? pisses me off i hate electrical trouble shooting.

once again i can turn the key and get no power at all nothing no lights power, fuel pump nothing

things i have tried

kill switch even changed it with my buds outlander
battery
fuses by battery, all 3 30 amps
fuses in front
relays in front
ignition switch as i put it on my buds quad and lights turned on as mine i get nothing

put a tester on it and see what kind of voltage it has. also check the battery cables and make sure there not rubbed thru and touching the frame.

change the relay with one you are absolutely 100 percent sure works, Check the engine ground it is located next to your right foot under the lower panel, Check the main ground which is bolted to to solenoid bracket.  DID I SAY MAKE SURE THE MAIN RELAY IS REPLACED WITH ONE YOU are 100 percent sure works.... because the problem sounds EXACTLY like that is the issue. IF you jump the solenoid with a screw driver and it turns over and you have zero power that all says main relay among other things. however if you jump the solenoid and it turned over that means your grounds are least conductive.

Ps one more thing i read you changed the ignition with your buds did you try your key in his ignition... albeit odd for a bad key to act this way i have heard stranger things usually a key will turn everything on but will display wrong key (08) check engine (07 and older)

ok guys it is not the battery at all

ok we got some progress the derection fuses is screwing me up big time. i have it the proper way and i get nothing, turn them around i also get nothing. then on the top directional fuse i grab a light tester ground it to the bike stick in on the top left prong then a light comes on as i then grab the directional fuse place it back in backwards then the fuel pump comes in then the bike starts with ignition on or off. once it running i shut the ignition off and the bike keeps running. to shut the bike off i have to remove the direction fuse or a relay.

any guess to what it might be? im thinking theres a bad ground somewhere

thats kinda odd but it has helped me with another problem thanks :)

also check and see iff the diodes are hot. I would replace them with ones from the working bike. Also if my memory serves there is a 7 am fuse down the line from your rear fuses lets power to the pod.. i have never messed with just saw it on a diagram once if my memory is right

those are the what your calling directional fuses... I think if my memory serves man there is a 7.5 amp fuse down the line from the main 30 amp in the rear... i just remember seeing it on a diagram once but i could be wrong.

pull the directional fuses (diodes) from the working unit and try it make sure they go the right way

sorry to say if you have checked all those things and are 100% sure they are good there is only two things left a broken wire or ECM issue. i have heard of the ecm deleting the key slot before

one thing reach underneath the fuse box, where the wire loam come in and push them up try it then.. if you still get nothing check for broke prongs in the fuse box

btw those diodes only work one way... they either open or close to check them you have to use an ohm meter... just makes no sense to me

one more thing have you recently put dielctric grease on the fuses if so wipe off any excess
