I am bringing my 650i in today to get a dyna jet kit, Epi clutch kit, And a muzzy pro exhaust. (soon to come is a dyna cdi, but not yet.) I want to know if i will be able to pop a wheelie on the road like my dads 750? It seems like a stupid question but since i put new rims and tires on it it feels really slow and not powerful. I used to be able to hit 105 km/h on the highway, not anymore i can hardly hit 95! Whats wrong here? The whole reason i wanted a clutch kit and exhaust is to get my power back and hopefully some top end as well. Am i really going to notice it?

And just for kicks what about a 2" lift kit? i am not sure about lifts yet. I would like to think i have alot of gc right now.

thanks to anyone who can help out!

From the looks of it you don't have any kind of module or cdi box.  Thats the real killer right there for low end power!  With the clutch kit your topend will either stay the same or suffer a little it's according to what kit you have, It will just get there quicker.  The muzzy exhaust will help mid-top end power the most.  You can get a $80 cdi moudle and get what you want for the bottom end power.  The dyna will only benefit if the reverse limiter really aggravates you b/c it removes it and if you have a custom cut primary clutch and can even reach the stock rev limiter with the larger tires, And again the clutch kit will limit how far the bike can rev out to even benefit the dyna.

On the 650i the dyna will give you no more power over a $80 moose or HL module.

Good luck,
  Brandon

You want topend back and bigger tires........... it really isn't possible. Without your primary shaved you will never make it back to the speads it did stock. Even then you are still wishing on a star. The most you could hope for is getting the bottom end back that the tires took away. Like B Man said a modual will fix that for you. He gave you some good info there.

The moose & HL module will give the same bottom end as a dyna or vdi CDI will.  The moose module is just alot cheaper for the same power gains.

What do you want us to tell you???? It maxes out your axels causes accelorated drive-line wear. But it gives you more GC and as long as you watch you thumb you will be fine. 99.9% of the guys on this forum have that lift in same way shape or form. If you just want to hear someone say get it...........GET IT! OMG

If you got the Muzzy Pro pipe I think you wasted the extra $100 for it.  The 650 motor is not big enough for that pipe.  Just the Muzzy would have been fine.  I have the Dyna on my 650i and love it.  I had the moose/HL and did not like it as much.  Seemed like the Dyna gave me more throttle pop when I wanted it.  Throw a set of Web 150i cams in it and it will help it out on the top end but you are going to have to get a VFJ clutch job to get your top end back or change out the secondary spring.

the dyna is better than the the modules cause the dyna bring the rev limiter up along the whole powerband and the modules only give you bottom end

and i agree on the muzzy pro is not needed just get the regular muzzy

It feels better by seat of the pants but not on a time card.......

I've had all of them and neither gave any better results than the other except that annoying mid stumble the dyna gives.  And with the VDI i made all sorts of custom maps with lyles advice changing the timing curves in several rpm ranges with no results.   It's all in all what you want but for just the power aspect and the trails the modules are just as good.

Everyone think the Dyna has the mid-throttle stumble but it is only the settings in the carbs.  If you get a carb jetted and adjusted right it will be smooth all the way through...

You get the springs that suit your type of riding. There are several "kits" out there but the best is the one you make yourself. The kits are way overpriced anyway. It really has nothing to do with the brand but EPI has way more options than dalton does. It is alot easier to fine tune your clutches with the EPIs but go with what makes you happy.

He's having a shop to do it so either they will do it right and charge a fortune to tune it or give up and tell him they can't get it out and still charge him....

I got it out with my VDI but it was a pain to get the right combination and still put good times down in the 1/8.   It's all in prefrence but for the 650i it doesn't benefit "power" over modules but does in other areas.  On a 750 I couldn't comment b/c i've never worked on one like i have my 650i i had.
