The manual specifies that the quad should have the key in "aux" when testing voltage and be at 5000 rpm. That means all three lights are on, and the quad is revving pretty high (6800 redline on the 700). At that rpm it should be between 13.5-15V. If you're lucky like me it will show under 13, and your battery will be perpetually dead, and you'll carry jumper cables with you so you can boost off everyone else when you park the quad... I haven't tried splicing that ground wire yet, but it's supposed to help. Some Kings have this problem, some don't. With a new battery normally the charging voltage will be a bit higher, around 13.2 or so. As the battery ages the charging voltage will go down to about 12.7V which is just above where the battery should be in a resting state. The Vinnie uses the same battery and doesn't seem to have issues. I don't know if it is just a bunch of bad voltage regulators, or just a bad ground, I'll have to try out splicing that wire but haven't had the time yet. Either way it's a stupid design flaw that still hasn't been corrected. There's nothing wrong with the charging systems as to their output, just for some reason sometimes the voltage is a bit low. Ben
