I was in the city this weekend and I noticed a quad I had never heard of before. They are called Motobishi, and the model this guy carries is called the chase 500.

I rode it around the yard (it was a yellow single seater)and for an off brand chinese unit I was quite impressed. It's fully independant, 700pounds wet, 12" ground clearance, comes 2up or single. Decent price I guess at $6900 CDN. I like that it comes with decent wheels and the fit and finish are nice. The only think that seemed really dated was the guage cluster.

It's the kind of unit where I would consider it IF it had been around long enough and knew about the long term quality (and how it reacts to our winters here)

Here's a link (hopefully)
http://cgi.ebay.ca/2007-Motobishi-Chase-500-4x4-ATV_W0QQitemZ180137550902QQihZ008QQcategoryZ6725QQcmdZViewItem

The dealer CLIAMS this company builds 90% of Yamaha's parts and that the machine is largly a Yamaha with a Motobishi engine. He also claims they have been out for 5 years in Europe and that is why they have turnsignals. Apparantly you can bolt on any Grizz aftermarket accessories. The little bit I inspected did have a grizzleesque feel to it. For sure the brakes and frame structure.

If anyone here owns one I'd love to hear some feedback. I'm not considering one, I'm just curious.

Keep in mind it's Canadian. When I bought my Brute 2 weeks ago a plain Jane 500 Cat was $9,000. But I see what you mean. A guy could get a year or 2 old H1 for that here I guess and then you know you at least have something.

Other than the front plastic/bumper that looks amazingly simmilar to a 660 Grizzly. They either actually make some of Yamaha's parts or they copied Yamaha.

It even says the transmission is an Ultramatic.  That's the auto found in Grizzly's and Kodiaks.

Been there did that, STAY FAR AWAY, i had mine, bought for the wife and we had more problems on the first run then could EVER be accepted, electrical issues, clutch issue, motor issues. We purchased it as a dealer demo, maybe that was the issue, we sold it to another guy and were SOOOOO happy to get away from it.

Yes they USE yamaha parts BUT they most definitley are not, quality is far inferior to yamahas, plastic is cheap and easy to break, very poor fit and finish, if considering one of these go look for a kodi or cat, they can be had for around 500 more in some cases than this and be enjoyed for years not months.

We bought a Chase 700 last year and it has run just as flawlessly as our Grizzly, We have only had to replace a boot "nothing unusual", and my Son beat on the thing. We are looking to buy a Motobishi UTV and are looking for any feedback on there side by side’s, for the price they can’t be beat. For those who are skeptical like I was of Motobishi just pick up the summer edition of ATV World magazine, they did a great review of Chase. Only other product in there are Polaris and Yamaha ect. They are not Chinese junk.
