I'm thinking of trading in my 2002 Grizzly 660 for a 2008 Brute Force 750...tell me why I'm making a good or bad decision.

I have owned a 2008 Grizzly 700FI EPS and I didn't think the 700 has many advantages over the 660, other than the power steering.  I think my 660 has just as much power as my 700 had.  This is why I'm considering jumping ship over to kawasaki.

I'm posting this in the kawasaki section too, I'm curious to see the variety of responses on the yamaha section vs the kawi.

new brutes, seem alot better than before, in handling. was thinking of getting one also, but would be hard pressed to give up my 700 for it, think the grizzly is a better over all machine.

I think the reason for the better handling goes hand in hand with the lower ground clearance...I guess they lowered the brute in 08 to give it better handling charactaristics.  I guess you can put 05-07 springs and get the GC back up 1 - 1.5 ".  I would rather have the ground clearance than the handling...I would buy a sport quad if I wanted it to handle like one.  I might just head over to the dealer today and try one out.

I love the Griz, but the Brute is a good quad to.I don't like the Brutes cable style diff-lock.Or the fact that they are known to be hard on belts. But that doesn't make it a bad quad.Every bike has pros and cons.Even the Griz.

Just make sure u keep water out of the brute engine, they cant handle water like a grizz can.

My buddy has an 08 brute he keeps at my place, I love it.  I'd trade for a FI brute in a heartbeat! I hate the brute belt system, but other than that I feel it's an obsolete bike...

I ride hard too man...I just prefer the brute.  It's more fragile for sure though.  My buddy had an 05 and got water in it 2x and it's done....needs a new topend, still just sitting at the house!!!

Anyway, I got over 900 miles on the grizz...not too many problems I have caused

I've sunk mine 5 times..honestly, And have never changed the oil since the dealership sis it at 100 miles..it has 730 now!! HAHAH Brutes are nice, but like said above they can't handle water!! but if you trade an 02 Grizz for an 08 brute your making a GREAT decision.

I love the power of the brute..........my grizz cant even compare. But i bought the 700 because its the good at everything not just a power house. But thats what i needed. The 02 grizz has alot of gremlins tho.........over heating, axles popping out ext.  Id trade the 02 for the 08 if i were you. But if power, handling, and straight balls id go with the renegade before the brute.  Those things are nuts...............if thats what your looking for.

Buddy has a brute and it does smoke my grizz but both are all modded out. But even he says in the mud he misses his Grizz.

As for his complaints:
Chokes stick if it sits more than a month(but new ones won't have that)
Always has to adjust his diff lock cable after hard weekend
4x4 switch boot tears and water leaks in and shorts it out
Tie rod ends break easy
Rear brake cable sticks if it sits for a month

The brute forces are a powerhouse compared to a grizz. But the grizz rides a lot better. I had a kodiak 450 before my brute and they ride the same. I also have big tires that make it ride rough. i would reccomend it. Now , if you beat the crap out of it by riding wheelis and slmming it down all the time and stuff like that you will need to replace tie rods. i havnt yet. iv no belt problems because i stay under 29,5. Of course they are gonna eat up cv joints and axles. And for the water, i hit a big beaver dam about 20 last weekind and it put water through my throttle boddies and in the oil . after i rung out my oil filter, i drove it home and changed oil a few timess and its fine now.   The power is awsome. it depends how yu like tro ride.

Hmm What to say? Well first off a Brute Force 750 is one **** of a machine no dout with its sheer power and speed. All 3 of my buddies have them that i ride with unbelieable power i must say . But in contrast they break way to much for me . Every ride its either a Belt or an axle and i do mean every other ride .But on their defence one is runing 29.5 outlaws and my other buddy 32 '' you know  and the other 26 '' laws. Now my grizzly has 1400 miles and not a problem yet . So you decide Do you HAVE DEEP Pockets or what ?Cause i sure cant afford the money that they dump into those bikes just to go out for a ride ? Oh ya and to fit 26'' tires on those bikes better get a 2'' lift

no you can fit 29.5  on a stock brute with no lift. 26's are tiny. i had 26 on my kodiak and no problem.... Besides lack of power of course.
