Does anyone know a class action suit I can sign up for for the air filter problems on the older Rhinos...there needs to be one. Fire fighting on my property this summer got real dusty and despite weekly cleaning my first problem was the dust got past the air filter and clogged the carb, just full of mud. Well after getting that fixed the engine seized up in about a week, seems the dust got past the carb and got into the engine and the whole thing had to be rebuilt...nice. That ran for about 24 hours and something horrible happened that didn't sound good at all, anyway, the thing is deader than a doornail again. I am thinking from the noise and movement it made it is the cam chain because the mechanic said it was pretty toasted from the dust damage but that he would have to drop the entire engine to change it at great expense because he couldn't find a replacement chain with a master link he could just thread through. Does anyone know where to get a cam chain with a master link so the whole engine doesn't have to be dropped?

its not that big of job to change the chain
8 bolts plus the lines get the motor loose
pull the side cover and flywheel and valve cover and your there
could actually be done in machine if you remove enough of the seats and stuff i think

and no there is no such thing as a timing chain with a master link
can he not just retime it from the valve cover and make it work for now

and the air pick up point on those should be recalled, they need to be snorkled to keep sand from entering the system and sandblasting your piston, i know of two people who dont ride in deep mud or water that have had rebuilds because of this

I know some people that have used a chain press to replace the chain without pulling the flywheel, I don't do it but it can be done. As for the suit. The only thing I have heard of is some units come dry from the manufacture and the dealers didn't oil them on PDI. The stock airfilter works good when installed correctly which can be hard to do sometimes. Your going to have a hard time proving that you installed it correctly. There are just to many rhino's out there that don't have a problem V.S. rhino's that do.
