I have a pretty old bow from back when I was a teen (about 6-8 years old now) and it is LOUD.  I went bow hunting back then with my dad, but since college and now a job, I haven't been bow hunting (take time off for rifle season only).

I am at a point now where enough is enough and I need a new bow.  I am looking at used ones because I don't know how much I will use it and don't want to drop $1500 on one if I never use it.  Will spend up to $500.

I have a new release, new sights, case and arrows that I got last year.  I bought my old bow as a package and everything was there, so I don't know what else I need new (besides the actual bow and quiver)?  I'm wanting something nice and straight shooting and pretty quiet.

BTW, I'm left handed.

Any help is appreciated, and please only PM me if you have one for sale.  I am starting this thread for advice on bow's and accesories.

Thanks!

The new team primos bear truth 2 is a good bow for 499-599 depending on where you buy it. They are fast, quite and a really nice shootn bow also looks very good.

You can check the classifides on ArcheryTalk.com  They even have a section for weirdos ... errr I'm sorry I meant Left-handed folk.

I would consider getting a used one or two year old "top of the line" bow for a great deal rather than a brand new cheap bow.    Good luck and shoot straight!

What should I be looking for in a bow?  Balance, sound, weight, string, etc... What makes one bow so much better than another?  At the store they range from like $300 to a couple grand... What gives?
