i might want to add some better lights since we are going to be doing some serious night riding at mudstock. I dont really want to add another set of aftermarket lights or anything like that. i would like to add either some hid bulbs or some piaa bulbs. Any tips on what one is better and what part number to get? Thanks KS

crap even with your lift you need to add some up on the top of your snorkels..LOL  those holes are deep down there and its dark..lol
last year my lights got completely covered with mud and i could not see crap even with my after market lights on, next time i will have FLOOD lights as high as my snorkels are..

Yeah thats true. But the charging system on the can ams is different than the cats. You can get away with those big lights on a cat and still have the battery charge.

that's a good idea.  i was thinking of adding a couple fog lights to the front - but then you have to worry about braking them off.  is there a noticable difference with the sylvania's?

yes there's a pretty noticeable difference. I was also told that the sylvania ss's were brighter than the piaa's were and there about 10$ cheaper also. The bulb is a 9003 or h4. I changed mine after the first night ride I went on. No troubles since.

PIAA EXTREME WHITE PLUS
H4 12v 60/55> 110/100w
Cool Blue White Light

Run these on both machines for 2 years, no problems.  They are noticibly brighter than the Sylvania's, and are a whiter/clearer beam.  I am pondering doing the headlight mod as well, even though it is not needed, but I dont know if the battery can handle it.  When I need the lights super bright, I usually have my heated grips/thumb and heated vest on as well, and it might draw too much.

Sorry, can't rmember the price.  It was 2 years ago, and I bought 6 pairs.  Canadian Dollars as well.  They are worth every penny if you enjoy, or need to be riding late.

I ended up putting the silver stars in and they are twice as bright as the stock one. I will let you know how they are on the trials in about 48 hours.
