Since they're like having a 3rd tire, figured tire talk would get the best response. Here's my Honda 300 (AKA "Tha Giant Killer") with a modified swing arm and a bolt on "centered" axle paddle. It is an absolute beast in the mud and ruts!! Haven't found an IRS bike that will beat it yet.

Look in my sig for the many of mine Ive built.  The foreman is an Old pic, was taken almost a year ago.  I have abused mine since then and Im just now redoing it.  Fixin to have a bolt on swingarm/paddle for SRA bikes.

... Cale, can I have it?

Can that 300 turn that paddle over well enough?  I'm sure it's far from stock, but still!

Hahaha darn that is some redneck s**t right there. I like it. That took some serious ingenuity to come up with. I bet it does good in the deep ruts huh.

J_Fred, with the motor work it pulls the tires and paddle no problem. The bike is a beast in deep ruts. This past weekend there were several holes at Mudcreek where my buddies 2" lifted Polaris Sp's w/28" Outlaws got hung up and I paddled right on through. There was one set of ruts where I had about 1ft between all 4 tires and the ground and I still paddled right across!! You can't appreciate how well a paddle works when it's positioned in the center of the frame! I will go as far as to say that I believe it can go through any set of ruts that a 6"-8" lifted IRS bike can and possibly some that they can't!  Gumbo03 designed and fabbed the 5 blade paddle for me. You can even unbolt them if you'd like.

Thanks GWC. You really need to find you an old 300 to trick out. Send Gumbo03 your swing arm and rear end and let him set you up with a paddle. It'll make you re-think the "SRA's are no good in ruts" thing!   Only drawback is it'll make your other bikes begin to collect dust!   I have had more fun on this thing than my other 3 bikes put together!

His Foreman 400 has the same rear swingarm setup as the 450 Foreman, so it should be the same. Gumbo and I worked out a trade for my paddle build. He does do excellent work and so far the setup has worked flawless with zero reliabilty issues.
For anyone that was at the EPI Endurance Run held on the Highline at Mud Nationals this year, you could see first hand how well the paddle setup worked! I was running 25x9.5 Super Swamper on the rear w/about 1/2" tread left and 25x8" Mudlite A/T's up front with about 1/2" tread on my 300. Frank (Gumbo) was running 4-25x10 Mudbugs on his Foreman 400. We were the only two man team to finish with both bikes out of the 22 teams that entered! Also like to add that we finished together and our time was the 7th best run of the day!! Here is a link to a thread in the "Mud Nationals" section of the forum that talks about the little bikes whipping up on some of the bike lifted bikes running 800cc motors and NOS!
http://www.highlifter.com/forum/m_2568849/mpage_1/tm.htm
Heck, we didn't have a full 700cc's between both bikes!!

Swamper 350 the paddles pull you thru a rutted hole. In deep ruts atvs will high center leaving you stranded, i mean you can rock it and work it thru but like Bear stated up the page he had 1 foot from the tire to the bottom of the rut. Let me tell you thats a lot of work to work the bike thru, and thats even if you can. See the paddle grabs the center of the rut where the bike would normally high center and keeps you moving so even if the tires are not touching the gorund your bike is still moving.

Frank's (Gumbo03) Foreman and my 300 at the buddy run at Mud Nats. Blasted down the big bad highline and back with little to no help from the tires!   Most fun i've had on a wheeler in a long time!

CTown, I was wondering what took you so long to post! You're one of the few paddle guys left on the forum!

Didn't see this post till I saw you talking about it somewhere else.  The paddles foreman has taken a BIG change and will never be recognised again lol.  Also thinking about making the paddles lighter but not totally sure yet.  Gonna get a gear reduction and do from there.

This seems awesome. It makes me want to go get an old bike just to have that done to it. But that seems like something when you're in a rutted hole where you'd normally get stuck you wouldn't want to spin the crap out of something like that.

My point was that it seems like if you would spin the crap out of that paddle it would be easy to break stuff.
