The more you default to limp mode the weaker the tranny gets. Get a Transgo Jr. kit for the tranny and try not to beat on it too much. You could always get a built tranny if you want to play a lot. You can clear the code with most programmers.

The limp mode is made to protect the tranny.  If it does not have it you got a blown tranny.  Spend the money and build it or get a less hp program...

You can take it off but your not going to go any faster.

The reason the truck goes into limp mode is because it detects too much transmission slippage when the torque converter is locked up. So if it goes into tlimp mode your slipping the tranny too much. If you disable limp mode, your still going to slip it and not go anywhere.

Its there to protect the tranny without it you WILL burn up your stock trans.

I dont know of any way to disable it except with EFI Live, ive never even looked for a way to disable it through my EFI Live because it is there for a reason. If you cant afford to build up your tranny you cant afford to run big tunes.

The Edge wont limp a trans. The PPE will. 100hp is about the most the ally will take before it slips.

We have tried the EFI tranny tuning and it seemed to make it run hotter.  Not Good.  Just a stock tuning with the built tranny is all you need.  The main reason people us the EFI tranny tuning is for the defueling that occures when it shifts.

The defueling is in the engine calibration not the tranny calibration.

I only use the tranny tuning for making pulling and racing tunes.

OK..  The tranny tells the engine to defuel.  It is a tranny file.  I can send you the EFI file if you need it....

Im looking at it right now.

The tables responsible for the defueling effect during shifts are. These are all in engine calibration.

B1106 - Peak Torque Vs RPM

B0741 - Torque Limited Injection Quantity

B1102 - Base Torque

Please enlighten me with this tranny file. We are talking Duramax/Allison correct.

Go with a built Trans with a nice converter and you can beat the crap out of it then... and the smoke thing is pretty pointless IMO unless you just like burning the good ole expensive Diesel.

There are several guys out there that can send you a custom tuned ECM.

moonshine is a ridiculous tune. If you have a built trans contact the boys at ridgerunner diesel. Not sure if they have it for the LBZ yet.

McRat knows his way around LLYs and LBZs.
