Long story short. I was trying to get oil filter out by hammering a screw driver through it and twist only went all the way through and scratched the motor. The part right under the oil filter. Very little hole. Whats the best way of plugging it up and the easiest way. Is jb weld a good idea or not. Will it stand up to the heat??? I can get to it easy with jb but i think it will be hard to get to it with a welder. This was on the Stealth 800.

I used JB Weld on a Recon when the Oil Plug was over tightened and cracked the motor. Worked great the rest of its life.

thumbs up on the jb weld.

bigger concern would be where is the piece of metal that filled the hole? if you can get it out of the engine i would jb weld that part back into the hole.

I agree jb weld will work.  I had something come loose inside my 700cc engine and punch a hole in the case.  I put a jb weld patch on it and it has held for over 2 years.  Not sure what came loose in the engine but I have put 50 hours on it since it happened without a problem.  Knock on wood.

JB all the way. Had a used motor shipped to me. THe guy did not pack it too well and the engine must have bounced on the oil drain plug. It pushed the plug up and tore a hole around the drain in the pan. Cleaned it up really good JB wand elded it. Has never leaked a drop after years.

If at first you don't succeed, get a bigger hammer.

the better you prep the surface the better chance you will have at it lasting, i have used jb weld and cut a piece of metal a little bit bigger than the hole and jb welded it over the hole and it worked great
